What You Will Contribute:

Badger Meter is recruiting for a1st ShiftMaterial Handler at our clean, air-conditioned facility inMilwaukee. Badger Meter isa great placetogrow your careerbecausewecombine a culture of innovation and collaboration with a deep commitment to sustainability.

Employees regularly rotate through various workstations within their home department and occasionally work in other areas of the facility depending on workload and customer orders. Responsible for observing safe work habits and maintaining cleanliness of work area.

Job Duties:

  • Performs diversified material movement tasks by utilizing hand, fork lift and electric hoist

  • Locates, selects, and issues productive materials, parts and assemblies to requesting departments throughout the plant and work centers for current shift production and staging of next-shift start up as directed by management or cell workers

  • Receives, counts, weighs, records, prints ID tags and stores production materials and parts and performs the related inventory transactions in inventory control and production reporting systems

  • Performs floor to file cycle counts and quarterly inventory audits. Removes ID tags from all reusable containers

  • Performs loading and unloading of trucks, pallets, trays, racks and shelves by hand as required or with electric hoist

  • Prepares the necessary documents for product processed by outside vendors. Consolidates inventory in bins to reduce storage space needed

  • May fulfill pick lists, resupply orders and outside operation orders

Education and Experience:

  • Fork Lift experience highly preferred

  • Manufacturing experience highly preferred

Qualifications:

  • Basic ability to read and understand customer orders required

  • Basic proficiency with computers required

  • Ability to pass internal forklift and hazmat training if applicable required

  • Basic skills in math

  • Ability to read, write and speak English required
