The City of Stoughton Senior Center is seeking a Program and Volunteer Coordinator to join our team. We're looking for a candidate with experience in volunteer and event management, whether in a hospital, historical society, museum, retirement home, or a similar setting. The Program and Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for developing, organizing, promoting, expanding, and evaluating agency programs and services in collaboration with Senior Center staff.

This position also leads volunteer recruitment, training, support, and evaluation for volunteers serving in a wide variety of roles and locations. This full-time, non-exempt position offers an hourly wage of $23.00 and an excellent benefits package, including Wisconsin Retirement, medical, dental, and life insurance. Minimum qualifications include at least two years of experience in programming and volunteer management, as well as a high school diploma or equivalent

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Plan, schedule and implement Senior Center programs, activities, and events; Promote programs, activities and events through a variety of forms including print, social media, email campaigns and various online community calendars; Establish and maintain relationships with local schools and other youth organizations to coordinate intergenerational programming; Coordinate Stoughton RSVP volunteer ride program; Maintain volunteer records and reports; Register, orient, and train new volunteers; Ensure proper placement of volunteers based on their skills and interests; Plan and implement events to recognize volunteers; Network with area senior centers and other organizations that provide programming or volunteer opportunities for older adults. QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or equivalent Two years practical experience in programming or volunteering with older adults, or any combination of education or experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities. JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of aging process and its effects on older adults; Ability to establish effective working relationships with Senior Center volunteers, participants, staff and the general public; Strong knowledge of computer applications; specifically Microsoft Word and Excel; Strong knowledge of and willingness to learn social media platforms.

Physical and Mental Abilities Required to Perform Essential Position Functions Ability to maneuver and steer equipment and machinery requiring simple but continuous adjustments, such as photocopier, computer keyboard/typewriter, calculator/adding machine and telephone. Ability to exert very moderate physical effort in sedentary to light work, typically involving some combination of stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling, lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling.

Ability to recognize and identify degrees of similarities or differences between characteristics of sounds, tastes and odors associated with job-related objects, materials and ingredients. Environmental Adaptability Light Work: Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds. Requires walking or standing to a significant degree, or requires sitting most of the time.
