About Us:

At White Dove Detox, our mission is to help individuals begin their recovery journey with a solid foundation. We understand that the early stages of recovery can be pivotal, and we strive to inspire hope, resilience, and lasting change. With compassion, dignity, and respect, we create a supportive environment where each person is valued and understood. A drug and alcohol detox is the process of safely managing withdrawal symptoms as the body clears substances, serving as the critical first step toward recovery. Our goal is to be the jumping-off point to the next phase of their journey, assisting in a smooth transition to aftercare for continued healing and success. We empower individuals to take that first step, ensuring they feel safe, respected, and encouraged as they embark on their path to lasting recovery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and monitor clients for withdrawal symptoms and medical concerns.
  • Administer medications in accordance with detox protocols and physician orders.
  • Respond swiftly and effectively to urgent medical situations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in Alleva, our detox-specific Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system.
  • Educate clients on health, recovery, aftercare resources, new medications, and any prescription changes.
  • Foster a clean, safe, and supportive environment for all clients.
  • Collaborate with the medical team to develop and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  • Assist with client care, repositioning, and emergency situations (ability to lift up to 50 lbs required).
  • Utilize critical thinking and triage skills to address situations and de-escalate clients when necessary.
  • Provide support, guidance, and answers to client questions in a judgment-free environment, ensuring they feel comfortable without shame or guilt.
  • Maintain a maximum RN-to-client ratio of 1:9 to ensure quality care.

Qualifications:

  • Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Utah (no disciplinary actions, sanctions, probation, or diversions).
  • Experience in substance abuse treatment, behavioral health, or detox preferred.
  • Ability to remain calm and act quickly in a fast-paced setting.
  • Knowledge of withdrawal symptoms, detox protocols, and medication-assisted treatment (MAT) preferred.
  • Proficiency with EMR systems, Microsoft Office, and online medication look-ups (including Drugs.com pill identification tool).
  • Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods.
  • Capability to lift up to 50 lbs for patient care needs.
  • Ability to respond quickly in medical emergencies.
