Description
Position Overview
The E-CADEMY PLTW Program Instructor is responsible for the oversight, implementation, and instruction of Project SYNCERE's PLTW program for High School students (9th- 12th). This includes supporting the development of program structure, managing day-to-day classroom operations, and fostering positive relationships with students, families, and volunteers. This role plays a key part in advancing Project SYNCERE's mission to expose underrepresented students to STEM pathways through high-quality, hands-on programming.
Key Responsibilities
Instruction & Student Engagement
  • Co-instruct a Project Lead The Way (PLTW) High School module to a class of up to 20 High school students.
  • Prepare and facilitate engaging weekly lessons that align with course objectives and support student learning outcomes.
  • Foster a classroom environment that promotes student curiosity, participation, and collaboration.
  • Complete all required training, including e-learning and a 2.5-week in-person training program.

Program Implementation
  • Track and manage classroom attendance, weekly progress reports, and lesson documentation.
  • Prepare class materials and assignments to support hands-on learning.
  • Support the successful planning and implementation of STEM-related field trips.

Family & Volunteer Communication
  • Coordinate communication with parents/guardians, ensuring updates on student progress and program activities.
  • Maintain collaborative relationships with volunteers and support their integration into classroom instruction when applicable.

Administrative & Operational Support
  • Prepare and submit weekly status reports on program progress and student engagement.
  • Attend staff and departmental meetings as required.

Requirements
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or current enrollment in a degree program in a STEM-related field (e.g., Engineering, Computer Science, Technology) preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience, preferably with middle school students.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in the technology or engineering industries preferred.
  • Strong communication skills-both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and Google Suite (Classroom, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive).
  • Must be available for in-person instruction on Saturdays during the school year.
  • Must be able to pass a background check and complete all mandatory training.
  • Availability to work summer is a plus.
  • PLTW certification is a plus.
