IT Development Manager - Digital Experience & Workflow Platforms
Contract-to-Hire Opportunity W2 candidates only. Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship requirements.
Overview
We are seeking an experienced IT Development Manager to lead the development, support, and continuous improvement of enterprise digital experience, workflow automation, and customer engagement platforms. This leader will oversee a team of software engineers, technical leads, business analysts, and QA professionals while driving the delivery of scalable, modern technology solutions that support customers, agents, brokers, and internal business users.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of software engineers, architects, analysts, and technical leads.
  • Drive the development and support of customer, agent, broker, and employee-facing digital platforms.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to improve customer experience, self-service capabilities, and operational efficiency.
  • Lead workflow automation and case management initiatives, including process optimization and business automation solutions.
  • Oversee application delivery, including new feature development, system integrations, platform upgrades, and production support.
  • Champion Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, automated testing, and modern software engineering best practices.
  • Collaborate with business leaders and enterprise architects to define technology roadmaps and strategic initiatives.
  • Manage vendor and consulting partner relationships to ensure successful solution delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with security, audit, governance, and regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of software development, application engineering, or enterprise application experience.
  • 3+ years of leadership experience managing software development teams.
  • Experience delivering enterprise-scale web applications, portals, workflow platforms, or customer-facing digital solutions.
  • Strong understanding of software architecture, APIs, integrations, cloud technologies, and Agile development methodologies.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Property & Casualty Insurance industry experience.
  • Experience with Guidewire Jutro Digital Platform (JDP).
  • Experience with Guidewire CustomerEngage or digital portal solutions.
  • Experience with Pega Platform, including workflow automation and case management.
  • Experience supporting customer, agent, or employee self-service platforms.
  • Experience with Azure cloud services and cloud-native application architectures.
  • Knowledge of policy administration, underwriting, billing, and claims processes.
Ideal Candidate
We're looking for a hands-on technology leader who can balance people leadership, strategic planning, and technical execution while driving digital transformation initiatives across customer experience and workflow platforms. Experience within insurance technology environments and modern digital ecosystems is highly preferred.
