JOB DESCRIPTION
THIS IS A VOLUNTEER POSITION ON A CITY ADVISORY BODY
There is two positions open on the MTC: one is for a person who is 62 years of age or older, with a term expiring June 30, 2030. The other is for a Cal Poly employee, to be designated by Cal Poly, with no term expiration.
The Mass Transportation Committee (MTC) advises City staff and the City Council on all matters related to public transportation in San Luis Obispo (buses, trolley, and taxi).
Meetings are the second Wednesday of every other month at 2:30 p.m. in the Council Hearing Room, City Hall, 990 Palm Street, San Luis Obispo.

TYPICAL QUALIFICATIONS
The Committee has seven voting members, consisting of the following:
  1. One Cal Poly employee designated by Cal Poly
  2. One Cal Poly student representative designated by Associated Students, Inc. (ASI);
  3. One person 62 years of age or older;
  4. One person from the business community;
  5. One person with technical transportation planning experience;
  6. One person that is a representative of the disability community;
  7. One member-at-large.

In addition, when possible, one alternate member selected from the general public will be appointed.
The Cal Poly representatives, technical planning representative, and disability community representative are exempt from the residency requirements.
All other members must be residents and registered voters of the City.
