Job Title: Auditor - Sanctions & Embargoes

Corporate Title: Assistant Vice President

Location: Cary, NC

Overview

The role reports to the Principal Audit Manager (PAM) for Anti-Financial Crime Sanctions & Embargoes (AFC S&E) in Cary, who in turn reports to the Chief Auditor of GA AFC Sanctions & Embargoes (AFC S&E) based in Frankfurt. The Auditor is responsible for working with the AFC S&E PAM on the Sanctions and Embargoes (S&E) Audit and Validation book of work including Obligations/Enforcement Actions and Group Audit Findings. The Auditor will work as part of a global team and participate and advise audit teams on S&E related topics.

What You'll Do

  • Validate findings through walkthroughs, identify risks and controls, define and conclude test plans with minimal PAM supervision; assess exception materiality independently
  • Lead Sanctions & Embargoes audits, oversee coverage, and guide audit teams on testing
  • Stay updated on regulatory and audit changes; communicate developments to enhance GA team knowledge
  • Support AFC ROM PAM in team management by promoting people development across the AFC and GA departments
  • Escalate emerging risks to senior management via appropriate forums, including reports and meetings
  • Build strategic relationships internally and externally to boost department performance and gain stakeholder support

Skills You'll Need

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; advanced degrees (such as a Master's or Juris Doctor) and professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CIA, CAMS, CFE) are highly preferred
  • Extensive experience in an audit function within the financial services industry, with a strong background in leading audits and validating findings in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • In-depth knowledge of AFC (Anti-Financial Crime) regulatory requirements and a comprehensive understanding of the risk and control landscape within financial services

Skills That Will Help You Excel

  • Demonstrated experience in proactively building meaningful relationships
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex issues/data simply and clearly

Expectations

It is the Bank's expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the Cary, NC office in accordance with the Bank's hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in Cary, NC is $100,000 to $153,000. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of remuneration.
