Job description

Job Overview

We're hiring experienced Maintenance Mechanics for a growing manufacturing operation in Woodridge, IL. This is a Direct Hire opportunity with openings available on 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift. In this role, you'll troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial packaging and production equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, helping maximize equipment reliability, safety, and production uptime.

Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on industrial packaging equipment and facility support equipment.
  • Disassemble, rebuild, and replace components including motors, gearboxes, clutches, bearings, and electrical components.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, machine manuals, preventive maintenance procedures, and work instructions.
  • Perform equipment adjustments and testing to ensure proper operation after repairs.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns quickly to minimize production downtime.
  • Work independently and collaboratively with production and maintenance teams.
  • Follow all safety procedures while maintaining equipment and supporting production operations.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
  • Basic knowledge of industrial electrical systems.
  • Working knowledge of 480V AC and low-voltage DC electrical controls.
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical equipment.
  • Ability to provide a basic set of mechanic's hand tools.
  • Ability to lift up to 55 pounds.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (approximately 80–90% of the shift).
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience maintaining industrial packaging equipment.
  • Experience with blow molding equipment, including Uniloy or Bekum machines.
  • Experience working with equipment such as carton erectors, carton sealers, liquid fillers, case packers, palletizers, conveyors, cappers, and labelers.
