PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS
To clean and maintain apartments
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Clean apartment units following Missouri Slope Assisted Living Procedures and Cleaning Routine.
  • A schedule of apartments to be cleaned will be followed.
  • The housekeeping staff are responsible for keeping all equipment and surfaces in the area assigned clean, sanitary and orderly using the appropriate procedures.
  • Established infection control procedures will be followed including proper hand washing, gloving and the use of personal protective devices.
  • The chemicals used in the performance of the job will be properly labeled and stored.
  • Will maintain confidentiality of all tenant information and provide privacy by knocking on apartment doors and waiting for response to enter.
  • Must attend in-services when offered and demonstrate interest in learning.
  • Should be flexible and be able to adapt to changes in procedures, willing to accept changes in hours and assignments as the need arises.
  • Must have the ability to exhibit patience and be a caring person.
  • Must be able to work under supervision and be willing and able to accept constructive criticism.
  • Must be able to cooperate and work together with co-workers as a member of the team and not be disruptive to the working environment.
  • Should be able to organize workload to completion in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Personal appearance must be neat and clean with good personal hygiene. Must be willing to follow established dress code including the wearing of name tag at all times.
  • Must be punctual and dependable with attendance as scheduled.
  • Must be able to work around oven cleaner occasionally.
  • Will promote Missouri Slope Assisted Living to prospective customers.
  • Safety precautions will be learned and followed. Will be responsible for adhering to safety policies and procedures established to protect the tenants and employees from unnecessary harm and injury.
  • Will be responsible to be aware of the Volunteer Protection Program (VPP) and Risk Management/Safety Program and will adhere to the established policies and procedures within the Missouri Slope Assisted Living facility and Missouri Slope Skilled Care with regards to job performance and safe operating procedures.
  • This position requires good hearing acuity and the ability to read, write, understand and speak the English language well enough to communicate effectively with tenants and coworkers, as well as receive oral an/or written instruction.
  • Must have visual acuity requiring close vision, distance sufficient for paperwork along with the ability to distinguish colors.
  • Must be in good physical health with the ability to push or lift up to 50 pounds, 10-20% of an 8 hour shift and to walk, stand and reach 90% of an 8 hour shift.

Assist in other duties as requested by the Director.

A well-lit and well-ventilated 64-apartment retirement community on 2 levels with carpeted and vinyl floors.
