Job Title: Student Worker - Children's Program Assistant - Mission Waco
Job Classification: Community Service, Student
Department: Off Campus Community Service
Hiring Manager: Libby Barnhill

Work Schedule: 10-15 hours per week, children's program runs Monday - Thursday about 3:00 pm - 5:30 pm, and we ask that you are there for program 2 of the 4 days
Desired Length of Employment: Fall/Ongoing
Pay Rate: $11.00 - $12.50/hr

  • In a student employee capacity, may assist in working with external community service partners.

Job Description:
POSITION SUMMARY-Assist the Children Program by helping to plan and implement daily activities. Build relationships with program participant children. Enforce all rules and discipline. Help with administrative and cleaning tasks as needed. MUST BE ELIGIBLE for FEDERAL WORK-STUDY. This is off-campus employment, so reliable transportation is important.
FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITIONS - Prepare daily program activities (gather equipment, setup rooms, etc.) Help supervise children in daily activities. Help prepare and implement the daily activities at program. Supervise the children and all volunteers. Assist with various cleaning and administrative tasks. If 21 years or older with a driver's license and good driving record, you may receive training to assist with transportation to assist with picking up youth from school and transporting to the Mission Waco program.
REQUIRED HARD SKILLS - General office skills. Good written and oral communication with others.
REQUIRED SOFT SKILLS - Mature and adept communicator. Flexibility and ability to prioritize well. Problem solving competence.
LEARNING OUTCOMES -Improve communication skills with various people demographics. Improve problem solving ability. Some knowledge of customer service with various demographics. Improve knowledge and understanding of children's development.
Hourly Rate: $11-$12.50/hour (depending on new or returning student worker status and/or any recognized special skill level)
