Job description

Volt is immediately hiring Fabrication Associate in Groveport, OH

As a Fabrication Associate, you will:

  • Be responsible for moving loose or bundled pipe within the shop and yard.
  • Be responsible for assembling pipe orders (single sticks or bundles) and maintaining organized work supplies.
  • Be responsible for following safety precautions when fabricating, cutting, assembling, stacking, and shipping pipe.
  • Be responsible for operating powered industrial equipment in compliance with OSHA guidelines and procedures.
  • Be responsible for setting up and maintaining machines used for pipe fabrication.
  • Be responsible for measuring, recording, and adding random pipe lengths accurately.
  • Be responsible for measuring and cutting pipe using band saws or torches.
  • Be responsible for threading and beveling pipe using Landis machines.
  • Be responsible for inspecting and maintaining forklift equipment.

This is a full time, Contract opportunity.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 6-8 months machinery, band saws, automatic welding machines, mechanical background
  • Use and understand tape measures. Use of Gauges for quality checks
  • Strong in sorting/shifting pipe ranging from ½” to 10”.
  • 3–6-month forklift experience

Preferred Skills & Qualifications:

  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong math skills for calculating product quantities.
  • Knowledge of safe work practices in the pipe yard.

Pay Rate: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour.

*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
