Basic Function:
  • Responsible for various duties within the Finance department, including maintaining the integrity of the general ledger and subsidiary ledgers, with an emphasis on accounts receivable
  • Assist in all financial reporting, both internal and external

Job Function (Duties & Responsibilities):
  • Prepare and distribute customer invoices accurately and timely
  • Monitor accounts receivable balances and manage collections follow-up
  • Track and report on revenue activity, cash collections, and aging trends
  • Assist with contract setup, billing schedules, and customer account maintenance
  • Research and resolve billing discrepancies and payment issues
  • Support cash application, reconciliations, and month-end close processes
  • Develop and maintain revenue and collections reporting for leadership
  • Analyze revenue trends and identify process improvement opportunities
  • Partner with internal departments to ensure accurate revenue tracking and documentation
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans
  • Monitor actuals against budget and forecast, identifying and explaining variances
  • Help improve operational workflows, controls, and reporting efficiencies
  • Contribute to audit and compliance-related activities as needed
  • Perform various other tasks that may be assigned from time to time by the Senior Financial Reporting Manager
  • Assist Club and Club staff in a professional manner on all Texans gamedays, LSSE Events, LOVB Volleyball Houston Events and duties within the Business operations offices

Subject to reasonable accommodations, position requires routine face-to-face personal interaction with other Club personnel; therefore, many job responsibilities must be physically performed in the Club's offices on a regular basis and not in a telecommuting manner.
Skills Required:
  • Basic knowledge of accounting and finance and related analytics
  • Working knowledge of various accounting software applications
  • Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office software, with an emphasis on Excel
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a high-energy environment
  • Possess excellent attention to detail and an ability to produce high-quality, accurate work within designated deadlines
  • Display strong interpersonal skills and the ability to create and maintain solid working relationships at all levels across the organization and externally
  • Ability to maintain confidential and/or proprietary information
  • Ability and internal drive to demonstrate a winning attitude and a strong work ethic in the performance of all job responsibilities

Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year accredited college or university preferred
  • High School Diploma required
  • Minimum three (3) years related experience in accounting/finance environment required
