VoIP Engineer (DC) VA-540-004-026
NT Concepts is seeking a VoIP Engineer to perform configuration, implementation and troubleshooting of voice systems for an IP telephony voice networks. This includes managing all engineering VoIP projects and configuring and optimizing all VoIP/IP- telephone systems and services, both internally and those integrated with Internet-based services, telephone and data networks. The work will be performed on-site for one of our cleared clients in Washington, DC. The location is metro accessible.
Duties and responsibilities include the following:
โ€ข Design, support and maintain secure and non-secure VoIP telephone systems and infrastructure hardware and software, including call management systems.
โ€ข Configure and optimize secure telephone systems, including Cisco telecommunications and networking products to include all voice switches and data network hardware at the intermediate and/or expert level.
โ€ข Provide on-site administration and support of Cisco VoSIP and other voice products.
โ€ข Capable of selecting and deploying appropriate tools for reporting, routing and monitoring of IP telephony traffic on the network.
โ€ข Provide leadership for implementing new VoIP products or services, as well as the technical resources required to manage them.
โ€ข Monitor and identify capacity and performance issues for VoIP traffic to ensure continued, uninterrupted operation of telephony systems.
โ€ข Collaborate with all aspects of IT organization including Systems Engineers Tier 1 support staff to resolve trouble tickets and mitigate end-user issues with VoIP hardware and/or applications.
โ€ข Perform both oral and written knowledge transfer and training to technical team members, and other stakeholders.
โ€ข Remain current on new transport protocols, products, and standards in support of VoIP systems development and equipment procurement.
โ€ข Provide accurate and prompt status reports as required.
Qualifications
Education and Experience Requirements:
โ€ข Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Technology or a related field is required.
โ€ข A minimum of four (4) years of telecommunications experience primarily configuring and maintaining data and voice networks.
โ€ข Must have CCNA/CCNP Voice certifications.
โ€ข Certified CISCO Call Manager Administrator is required.
โ€ข Must have a working technical knowledge of VoIP/IP telephony systems, software, and hardware, including specialized knowledge of Cisco products
โ€ข Experience with SIP, H.323, TCP/IP, and other routing protocols.
โ€ข Strong understanding VoIP QoS issues and mitigation strategies.
โ€ข Working knowledge of the Microsoft desktop and server operating systems.
โ€ข Direct experience with Cisco routers and switches.
โ€ข Knowledge of cabling and wiring systems, design, and installation.
โ€ข Ability to operate tools, components, peripherals, and testing accessories.
โ€ข Familiar with IT Government C&A process and Information Assurance requirements
โ€ข Superior analytical and problem-solving skills.
โ€ข Due to contract requirements, position requires an active Secret clearance and the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance.
โ€ข CCIE Voice or CCIE Collaboration highly desired
โ€ข Occasional travel may be required with advanced notice.
