Guttenberg Municipal Hospital & Clinics (GMHC) is seeking a Family Medicine Physician to join our team and provide high-quality, compassionate care to patients throughout their lifespan.

The Opportunity
As a Family Medicine Physician at GMHC, you will provide comprehensive care focused on health promotion, disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of acute and chronic conditions.
Responsibilities include:
  • Providing comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for patients across the lifespan
  • Promoting preventive care, wellness, and appropriate health screenings
  • Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests and developing individualized treatment plans
  • Prescribing medications and therapeutic treatments within your scope of practice
  • Educating and counseling patients and families regarding health conditions and treatment options
  • Coordinating referrals and continuity of care with other healthcare professionals
  • Responding to patient questions and concerns in a timely manner
  • Maintaining accurate and complete medical documentation
  • Collaborating positively with medical staff and the interdisciplinary healthcare team
  • Serving as a resource in decisions and planning related to clinic services
  • Responding appropriately to urgent and emergency patient care needs
What We're Looking For
Candidates must:
  • Be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine and/or Internal Medicine
  • Hold or be eligible to obtain an active Iowa physician license
  • Maintain current DEA registration and Iowa Controlled Substances Act registration
  • Meet GMHC Medical Staff membership and credentialing requirements
  • Maintain certifications required by hospital privileges
  • Complete required Child and Dependent Adult Mandatory Reporter training
  • Demonstrate excellent communication, collaboration, empathy, professionalism, and a commitment to patient-centered care
