Job description

Video Voice Data Communications (VVD) is an Engineer Design/Construction company that provides electrical and telecommunications solutions. We have an opening for a Drafter Designer to develop technical drawings of field maps using Bluebeam and AutoCAD software . We are seeking a Drafter to become a part of our team.


Position Description

The Drafter will contribute to the production of planner redlines, base maps, exhibits, profiles, elevations, markup, takeoff, organize, and collaborate using PDF files. You will prepare documentation that includes product materials and dimensions and review with team leaders and project managers prior to client submittal.


Responsibilities:

  • Creates project work prints based on designs put together by the designer
  • Create drawings for the placement of fiber optic cables, poles, conduit, transmission equipment and associated electronics
  • Create work prints based on current and past network architectures.
  • This role is responsible for the timely and accurate completion of moderate to advanced complexity construction drawings for telecommunication projects.
  • Drafter will be responsible for working closely with other drafters and Project Managers to produce high quality construction packages, process high quality as builds.
  • Drafter will focus on Drafting of Telecommunications backbone and distribution.
  • AutoCAD, drafting experience and knowledge is welcomed


Requirements:

  • Authorized to work in the United States
  • Pass a criminal background screening
  • Pass a 5-panel drug screening that includes THC, PCP, cocaine, opioids, and amphetamines
  • Able to work 100% in office
  • Working knowledge of design/drafting techniques and software
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office 365 software (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams)
  • Actively working with AutoCAD or has recent hands-on experience with AutoCAD or Bluebeam software 
  • Good organizational, planning and time management skills
  • Must be open-minded and have initiative to learn and take on new tasks
  • Prior exposure or familiarity with telecommunications environment highly preferred


Location:

  • This is a 100% IN OFFICE position (not a remote position).
  • Orange County in Garden Grove CA, close to the 22 freeway
