Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Infrastructure Systems Engineer to lead the implementation, administration and support of our enterprise and cloud infrastructure services from our Durham location. This role requires deep expertise in Dell server platforms, NetApp storage systems, VMware virtualization technologies, and cloud service providers services (AWS and Azure). The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with strong technical acumen and a proactive approach to ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of Client's's global infrastructure. You will play a crucial role in enabling the technology that powers our cutting-edge semiconductor manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement, deploy, and maintain enterprise-grade infrastructure solutions utilizing Dell servers, NetApp storage, VMware virtualization, and cloud platforms (AWS and Azure).
  • Design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure services (AWS/Azure), including compute, storage, networking, and security configurations.
  • Lead complex infrastructure projects, including cloud migrations, hybrid integrations, upgrades, and capacity planning.
  • Manage and optimize NetApp storage systems, ensuring high availability, performance, and data integrity.
  • Administer and enhance VMware environments, including ESXi hosts, vCenter, virtual networking, and lifecycle management.
  • Collaborate with network, security, and application teams to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of all infrastructure components.
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure automation scripts and tools using PowerShell, Python, Bash, and cloud-native automation tools.
  • Proactively monitor system health, performance, and security across on-premises and cloud environments.
  • Provide expert Tier 3 support and technical mentorship to junior engineers and technicians within the global team.
  • Develop and maintain detailed documentation of infrastructure architecture, configurations, and operational procedures.
  • Participate in disaster recovery planning, testing, and execution to ensure business continuity.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering and systems administration.
  • Expert-level knowledge of Dell server hardware and management tools (e.g., iDRAC, OpenManage).
  • Extensive experience with NetApp storage systems, including administration, configuration, and protocols (NFS, CIFS, iSCSI).
  • Advanced proficiency in VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, and related virtualization technologies.
  • Advanced proficiency in AWS and Azure cloud infrastructure, including services for compute, storage, networking, and security.
  • Strong scripting skills (PowerShell, Python, Bash) for infrastructure automation and monitoring.
  • Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, SAN environments, and Windows/Linux server administration.
  • Solid understanding of cloud networking fundamentals, compute, storage, and identity management.
  • Proven ability to lead complex infrastructure projects and provide mentorship to junior staff.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
