Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Systems Engineer (VDI) to support a mission-critical Department of Defense environment based in Newington, VA. This is a fully onsite role. This role will focus on the design, administration, optimization, and security of a large-scale Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environment. The ideal candidate brings experience with Omnissa Horizon, VMware vSphere, endpoint management, PowerShell automation, and secure enterprise desktop solutions. Responsibilities for the Systems Engineer (VDI) include: * Design, administer, and optimize enterprise VDI environments using Omnissa Horizon on VMware vSphere, including master images and desktop pools * Manage VDI endpoints and user profile solutions while supporting thin-client environments and enterprise desktop configurations * Develop PowerShell automation and perform testing, monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance optimization across the VDI environment * Implement and maintain DoD security requirements, including DISA STIG compliance, while collaborating with systems, network, cybersecurity, and customer teams Qualifications for the Systems Engineer (VDI) include: * 8+ years of systems engineering or related experience with a Bachelor's degree * Active TS/SCI clearance * Current CompTIA Security+ certification * Hands-on experience with Omnissa Horizon (VMware Horizon) on VMware vSphere, VDI image management, thin clients, profile management, and Group Policy * Deep understanding PowerShell scripting and automation with experience supporting VDI monitoring, performance management, and enterprise endpoint environments * Experience with DISA STIG compliance, experience with FSLogix, Dell Wyse Management Suite, Packer, Active Directory, or endpoint security tools is preferred Compensation for the Systems Engineer (VDI) includes: Salary Range: $160,000 - $175,000 Comprehensive Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), PTO, Sick Leave if required by law, and Holidays This job opens for applications on 8/20/26.
