The Principal Anaplan Solutions Architect works with user groups to solve business problems with available technology including hardware, software, databases, and peripherals. The Principal Anaplan Solutions Architect provides strategic advice and guidance to functional team(s). Highly skilled with broad, advanced technical experience.

The Principal Anaplan Solution Architect will serve as a key partner to both Finance and HR, ensuring that Anaplan is leveraged to its fullest potential while aligning with enterprise architecture, data governance, and strategic planning goals. They will translate business needs into technical systems solutions. Integrates hardware, software and network interfaces to form a system. Advises executives to develop functional strategies (often segment specific) on matters of significance. Exercises independent judgment and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks, and works under minimal supervision, Uses independent judgment requiring analysis of variable factors and determining the best course of action.

Master Anaplanner certification is highly desirable

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end Anaplan solution architecture across Workforce Planning and Workforce Management domains
  • Operates at a strategic level, responsible for setting the overall architectural vision and standards for Anaplan across the organization.
  • Serves as the subject matter expert and key advisor for complex, enterprise-wide Anaplan implementations and integrations.
  • Subject matter expert in modeling frameworks, governance, and best practices, mentoring Lead Architects and other team members.
  • Engages in strategic planning, platform optimization, and alignment with broader enterprise architecture initiatives.
  • Lead the design and implementation of Anaplan modules for:
    • Finance: Headcount cost modeling, compensation planning, forecasting, scenario analysis.
    • HR: Position management, hiring plans, attrition modeling, workforce analytics.
  • Oversee Architect and maintain integration strategies with enterprise systems (e.g., Workday, SAP, Oracle, Snowflake) and ensure seamless data flow across platforms.
  • Subject matter expert on Anaplan security models, user roles, and access controls across domains.
  • Lead and mentor offshore and cross-functional teams in model development, testing, and deployment.
  • Establish, develop and maintain reporting and dashboard solutions using Anaplan and complementary tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
  • Serve as a strategic SME to Finance and HR leadership, helping shape the enterprise planning roadmap.

Strategic & Technical Leadership

  • Act as a cross-functional bridge between IT, Finance, and HR, ensuring alignment of planning tools with business strategy.
  • Contribute to the enterprise technology roadmap by evaluating emerging trends in workforce planning, predictive analytics, and EPM platforms.
  • Promote continuous improvement by identifying inefficiencies, proposing enhancements, and driving innovation across planning processes.
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy, security, and governance standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, SOX).
  • Lead management efforts to drive adoption of new planning capabilities and tools.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in Anaplan, including model building, architecture, ALM, and security configuration.
  • Proven experience supporting both Finance and HR domains in a planning or analytics capacity.
  • Strong understanding of financial planning, workforce management, and organizational design.
  • Experience with enterprise systems such as Workday, SAP, Oracle, and Snowflake.
  • Hands-on experience with integration tools (e.g., Oracle OIC, Informatica, MuleSoft, Anaplan Connect, APIs).
  • Proficiency in data visualization and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
  • Expertise with predictive modeling tools and techniques (e.g., Python, R, Azure ML).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence across business and IT.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Anaplan Solution Architect or Master Anaplanner certification.
  • Experience with other EPM platforms (e.g., Oracle PBCS, Oracle EPM, Adaptive Insights, SAP BPC).
  • Background in enterprise architecture, data strategy, or IT business analysis.
  • Experience working in agile delivery environments and managing product backlogs.

  • WAH requirements: Must have the ability to provide a high speed DSL or cable modem for a home office. Associates or contractors who live and work from home in the state of California will be provided payment for their internet expense.

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
