Description

Fernway is searching for a Marketing Planning & Operations Manager to join our team. This role serves as the operational backbone of Fernway's Marketing organization, ensuring the people, projects, merchandise, and processes that support our marketing efforts move efficiently from planning through execution. This role owns the operational management of Fernway's continuous marketing planning cycle, oversees the end-to-end marketing merchandise supply chain, and leads cross-functional strategic initiatives that improve execution, scalability, and organizational effectiveness across the department.

Key Responsibilities

Marketing Planning & Program Management

  • Own the operational management of Fernway's continuous marketing planning process, maintaining a rolling 12-14 month planning horizon across global initiatives and state-specific programs.
  • Build and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, milestones, dependencies, and execution calendars for all major Marketing initiatives.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, resolve roadblocks, and proactively communicate status updates to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Coordinate cross-functional collaboration between Marketing, Commercial, Operations, Regulatory, Product, Finance, and external partners to ensure projects remain aligned and on schedule.
  • Lead recurring planning meetings, project reviews, and execution updates while maintaining clear accountability for deliverables across the organization.

Marketing Merchandise Supply Chain

  • Own Fernway's end-to-end marketing merchandise supply chain, ensuring promotional products, apparel, retail displays, fixtures, event materials, and branded assets are delivered accurately, on time, and within budget.
  • Source and manage domestic and international manufacturing partners for marketing merchandise and promotional materials.
  • Manage the complete merchandise lifecycle, including supplier sourcing, quotations, budgeting, purchase orders, production schedules, approvals, payment tracking, freight coordination, shipping, and final delivery.
  • Partner with Operations, Commercial Directors, and Field Marketing Managers to coordinate distribution across all markets while ensuring each team has the information and resources needed for successful execution.
  • Continuously evaluate suppliers, costs, production quality, and logistics processes to improve efficiency and reliability.

Operational Excellence

  • Continuously improve the systems, workflows, and processes that support Marketing execution across the organization.
  • Develop and maintain standardized playbooks, SOPs, templates, checklists, project documentation, and operational resources that create consistency and scalability.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through better planning, automation, communication, documentation, and project management practices.
  • Establish repeatable processes that reduce complexity and improve execution across recurring marketing initiatives.

Strategic Projects

  • Serve as Marketing's lead project manager for high-priority cross-functional initiatives that require coordination across multiple departments.
  • Lead projects from planning through implementation by defining scope, building timelines, coordinating stakeholders, tracking progress, and ensuring successful execution.
    • Example projects include: develop Fernway's eCommerce business, coordinate future website enhancement or platform migration initiatives, or improve Fernway's visual merchandising collateral.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • 4-7 years in CPG, agency, or comparable industry.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical aptitude with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Expert proficiency in project management platforms, with the ability to quickly adapt to and effectively manage workflows in ClickUp.
  • Proven success managing cross-functional campaigns from concept through execution.
  • Proficient Experienced and comfortable working Exceptional project management skills and comfort working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Strong time-management skills.
  • Highly approachable & friendly personality.
  • A high degree of integrity and ethical conduct at all times.
  • Strong attention to details.
  • Must pass all cannabis required pre-screenings in accordance with all applicable federal and state laws.
  • Experience in Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut, Canva and Wordpress a plus.
