Upon acceptance of offer, we will coordinate new hire paperwork and pre-employment substance abuse screening (Drug Free Employer).
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
o Follow and reinforce company safety policies
o Primary communicator with project owners and/or engineers
o Attend pre-bid meetings with the owner, vendors, and subcontractors
o Develop a complete and accurate bid proposal including quantity take-off, crew composition, and material and subcontractor pricing
o Compare bid pricing to historical data
o Develop budgets and negotiate subcontractor agreements and purchase orders
o Outline and communicate specifications for superintendents and foremen
o Procure materials and major equipment
o Negotiate, secure, and manage subcontracts
o Maintain D/W/MBE goals and EEO utilization awareness
o Prepare and maintain the project progress and budget
o Develop and maintain project schedule
o Perform a variety of tasks that may include periodically having to lift heavy objects, stand for extended periods of time, stretch, walk, climb and bend under potentially adverse field conditions and be able to perform visual tasks such as back up spotting and hear and react to back up alarms, per safety protocol
Required Qualifications:
o A Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management and/or environmental engineering
o 5-10 years or more progressive experience in heavy civil construction or environmental project management
o A record of successfully estimating and managing heavy/highway or environmental construction from $50K to $20M
o Have a working knowledge of means and methods, crew composition, and production rates for heavy highway/bridge or environmental remediation
o Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and CPM scheduling software with the ability to adapt to a variety of computer applications
o Cost accounting experience preferred
o The ability to work with a team to complete projects within stated deadlines
o Strong attention to detail
o Excellent written and oral communication skills
o Analytical and problem-solving skills
o Must pass a pre-employment drug screen
o Must have a valid driver's license or reliable transportation to report to work on time
o Position will require travel
