Facility Operations Supervisor

Summary

Pay:  Up to $111,000.00 - Depending on experience

The Facility Operations Supervisor provides front-line leadership and oversight of daily plant operations. Depending on the assigned department, responsibilities may include refinery operations, shipping and receiving, truck and rail loading and unloading, tank farm operations, maintenance, blending, wastewater treatment, and waste-tracking activities. This position supervises plant employees and foremen while promoting safe, efficient, and compliant operations.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Five to seven years of relevant plant operations experience required.
  • Previous plant leadership or supervisory experience required.
  • Department of Transportation training required.
  • Forklift training or certification required.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, decision-making, and employee-management skills.
  • Working knowledge of multiple plant operations and site-specific processes.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow Standard Operating Procedures and successfully complete required annual reviews and quizzes.
  • Proficiency with Windows-based applications and plant waste-tracking or scanning systems.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness and ability to travel less than 10%.
  • Ability to wear a respirator and successfully complete a respirator fit test.
  • Ability to work in environments that may include loud noise, machinery, vehicles, chemicals, and other industrial conditions.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, kneel, reach, squat, stoop, push, pull, grasp, and lift or carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to safely operate or drive cars, trucks, forklifts, and heavy equipment as required.
  • Must possess the visual and hearing abilities necessary to safely perform the essential functions of the position, with corrective or assistive devices when needed.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily, site-specific plant operations, including truck and rail loading and unloading, refinery operations, tank farm activities, wastewater treatment, maintenance, blending, and waste-tracking processes.
  • Lead, coach, and mentor plant foremen and employees.
  • Serve as the subject-matter expert for assigned operational areas.
  • Ensure employees follow all Health and Safety requirements, Standard Operating Procedures, permit requirements, and site-specific policies.
  • Hold employees accountable for safety, performance, attendance, and compliance expectations.
  • Ensure employees understand and take ownership of applicable permit and regulatory compliance standards.
  • Oversee employee training, scheduling, performance evaluations, development, corrective actions, and other supervisory responsibilities.
  • Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas.
  • Review operational records, scanning applications, EOM scanning procedures, VPI documentation, and pick sheets.
  • Support continuous improvement and efficient plant operations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned based on business needs.
