The Role

Comfrt is looking for an 100% awesome, capable, and experienced Assistant Visual Store Manager (AVSM) to help lead our first Retail location at the Mall of America. In this role, you will be the creative champion of the store's physical identity, translating Comfrt's mental wellness mission into a tactile, visually stunning shopping environment. You will own the visual storytelling on the floor—interpreting corporate planograms, executing high-level product merchandising, and styling displays that instantly evoke that "feeling of a hug" for everyone who walks through our doors.

Alongside your visual focus, this role involves overseeing the training, development, and performance management of all store associates, ensuring an exceptional experience for our community, and addressing their needs promptly. The Assistant Visual Store Manager will work closely with the Store Manager to drive sales and profitability through effective management practices and strategic planning, and will collaborate with the retail leadership team to create and implement strategies to reach store goals.

What You’ll Do
  • Visual Execution: Ensure the Comfrt Visual Merchandising Planograms are executed flawlessly for each launch.
  • Brand Standards: Ensure flawless execution of brand standards, decal and light box installation, mannequin styling, cleanliness, and organization.
  • Strategic Feedback: Leverage weekly sales data and performance metrics to implement strategic visual changes and identify product needs.
  • Launch & Setup: Support all aspects of initial store setup and launch.
Team Leadership & Development
  • Team Development: Support the Store Manager in recruiting, training, scheduling, and developing team members.
  • Team Education: Educate and train team members to deliver exceptional product knowledge to ensure best-in-class customer experiences.
  • Brand Ambassadorship: Serve as a brand ambassador through product expertise, sharing the product story with all customers, making product recommendations, and training the team.
  • Culture: Foster a positive, productive, and inspirational work environment.
Daily Operations & Logistics
  • Daily Operations: Assist in daily operations, including opening and closing procedures.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee inventory management, including shipment processing, stock replenishment, and inventory accuracy.
  • Logistics: Unpack boxes for inventory as required (boxes can weigh 5–50 lbs).
Financials & Safety
  • P&L Oversight: Accurately track hours and expenses, and participate in the review of store P&L statements to ensure accuracy.
  • Safety & Security: Ensure all safety and security procedures are followed and communicate potential issues promptly.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of retail experience.
  • 2+ years managing Visual Merchandising in high-volume retail.
  • Results-Oriented: Action-oriented and results-driven.
  • Leadership: Ability to motivate others and build effective teams with strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Conflict Resolution: Skilled at mediating and negotiating to resolve conflict.
  • Communication: Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Holiday Availability: All employees are expected to be available to work "Black Friday" (the day after US Thanksgiving) until the end of the holiday season on an annual basis.

Base Salary Range: $55,000 - $65,000
