About the Role 

We are currently seeking a self-motivated, results-oriented RETAIL SALES AND MERCHANDISING MANAGER. In this role, you’ll lead a high-performing retail sales team focused on delivering an outstanding customer experience while driving sales and operational success. You'll coach and develop associates, oversee merchandising, inventory, and daily store operations. You’ll also partner with store leadership to achieve sales goals, build talent, and maintain a safe, customer-focused environment.

What You’ll Do

  • As sales floor leader, ensure associates are greeting and presenting appropriate product solutions to all customers; ensure customer satisfaction standards are being met
  • Consistently achieve customer satisfaction, sales, productivity, payroll and expense goals, as well as ensure that sales policies and procedures are being properly carried out at the store level
  • Manage staffing, orientation and training to ensure competent supervisors and associates are hired, trained and scheduled to properly service our customers
  • Participate in regular leadership meetings with General Manager, Operations, and Service to ensure store alignment. Serve as manager-in-charge during the absence of the General Manager or other store managers
  • Ensure the execution of ad set, visual merchandising standards, and execution of “The Guide”, our monthly merchandising handbook
  • Provide and document regular coaching and feedback to associates to ensure appropriate sales presentation, customer satisfaction, visual merchandising standards, and that sales goals and results are being communicated to all associates
  • Review P&L statements and sales reporting with the General Manager regularly to identify areas of concern; recommend and implement sales improvement plans
  • Participate in and lead open and close procedures, as well as manage all freight flow and merchandise processing, including regular cycle counts and tracking of company assets through inventory control
  • Maintain operational functionality and safety standards of all areas of responsibility
  • Ensure human resource issues are handled in accordance with guidelines; partner with Store Manager and Regional HR Manager
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned

What We’re Looking For

  • Five or more years of leadership experience with a major big box retailer in a high-volume, 30,000+ square-foot store, preferably in a commissioned sales environment or within the consumer electronics industry
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Previous experience in all aspects of retail management: driving sales, merchandising, operations, freight flow and customer service
  • Experience in human resources functions and capable of hiring, retaining and coaching qualified employees
  • Flexible availability, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Occasional travel required for meetings, training, and other business-related needs
  • Ability to stand and walk throughout the sales floor for the duration of each shift
  • Ability to independently operate retail equipment, including box cutters, totes, baker’s racks, flatbed carts, and hand trucks, as well as the use of handheld scanners, POS terminals, and computer workstations
  •  Ability to constantly lift/carry up to 25 lbs., frequently lift/carry up to 50 lbs., and occasionally lift/carry up to 100 lbs., as well as the ability to perform repetitive physical activity
