About The Role:
The Service Assistant maintains the appearance of the store, both through cleanliness and placement of merchandise.
Reports To: Visual Merchandiser, Store Manager and Assistant Manager.
Essential Functions:
  • Places, moves, arranges incoming merchandise in the showroom under the direction of the Visual Merchandiser or other members of the management team.
  • Pulls outgoing merchandise from the showroom under the direction of the Visual Merchandiser or other members of the management team.
  • Maintains the cleanliness and appearance of all areas of the store and parking lot; acts as maintenance point-person for store: changes lightbulbs, check and replace ceiling tiles, etc.
  • Removes all trash and cartons from showroom floor, office space, and parking lot.
  • Assists in loading and unloading trucks in the receiving area. Unpacks merchandise and inspects for damage; notifies management of any damages. Assists in attaching price tags to the merchandise as directed.
  • Assists customers with wrapping and loading of "take with" purchases. Has customers sign for items, documents license plate number and scans in supporting documentation.
  • Maintains a caring and cheerful demeanor in assisting customers and fellow employees.

Requirements:
  • Capable of lifting 100 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 50 pounds; knowledgeable in basic lifting techniques for heavy objects
  • Wears required steel-toed boots, back support, and uniform always
  • Ability to communicate and write in English is required

Work Environment:
This position operates in a showroom / retail floor environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, tablets and other office equipment
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and/or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. Must be able to lift 100 pounds maximum on occasion and frequently lift objects weighing 50 pounds.
Position Type / Expected Hours of Work:
This position requires at least 40 hours per week as a part of standard retail schedule to include evenings, weekends and holidays.
