Overview

The Visual Merchandiser position collaborates with our Buying and Merchandise Planning Teams in the analysis of product data and forecasts in order to recommend how to best allocate the space of each department in achieving our company visual merchandising vision and sales goals. This position participates in our Strategic Direction Meetings, creating photograms and planograms to communicate and recommend solutions on product placement with a greater emphasis on our overall presentation direction.

Responsibilities

  • Creates and maintains store photograms and planograms
  • Writes new and existing product merchandising and presentation direction
  • Manages communication of all product changes and section resets including partnering with the Visual Merchandising Presentation Team to identify prop, sign and graphic opportunities and consistency
  • Partners with our Buyers and their teams related to the remerchandising of existing products, new product introductions and exit strategies for discontinued products
  • Supports the Director of Visual Merchandising in their management of priorities and allocation of resources to implement company directives and initiatives
  • Maintains a thorough understanding of inventory management and demonstrates this understanding through teaching and instilling these habits in others
  • Works directly with Buyers to suggest and direct product placement based on analysis of sales forecast
  • Directs and recommends product presentation according to the Visual Merchandising and Buying Department direction
  • Participates in Strategic Direction Meetings and implements directions
  • Communicates and demonstrates company standards as they relate to visual merchandising practices and guidelines and the importance of Visual Merchandising to our selling efforts and service elements
  • Proactively identifies necessary merchandising improvements and formulates and directs necessary changes
  • Provides analysis and direction for successful new store setups, remodels, product and campaign rollouts and department changes
  • Keeps current on all product information and merchandising memos and directives
  • Partners with our Fixture and Store Planning Teams to determine and develop the necessary fixtures and installations in support of section resets and new product introductions while keeping store floorplans current
  • Participates in the implementation and ongoing maintenance of the planogram system

Qualifications

  • College degree preferred
  • 3-5 years' visual merchandising experience; housewares preferred
  • Strong experience with Photoshop
  • Understanding or ability to quickly learn other software including but not limited to InDesign, Adobe PDF, CAD and Planogram Software
  • Proficient with basic Microsoft programs including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Based in Dallas/Ft. Worth area on a hybrid schedule
  • Ability to travel 10% a year, based on the business needs
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
