Job description

Role Summary

Terrain is looking for a Green Goods Merchandise Assistant (MA), to support the daily operational functions within the Nursery Buying team; support the buying team in managing the overall merchandise flow and any other necessary administrative tasks. MA's will develop and manage key cross functional relations with both the external vendors and internal partners within our Distribution Center, Buying Operations, Store/Visual Leadership Teams, and Ecommerce Team.

Role Responsibilities
  • Manage all purchase orders from creation to delivery.
  • Own database entry and maintenance for IP, POTS, and MTS systems.
  • Support the buying team with reporting and monitoring receipts.
  • Maintain clear communications with all vendors to ensure on-time delivery, claims, invoicing, and assisting with system set-up and usage.
  • Own product information collection and entry for ecommerce and retail channels.
  • Maintain and communicate delivery schedules to store teams.
  • Reconcile invoicing and coordinate with Accounts Payable teams to ensure timely payments.

Role Qualifications
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • 1-2 Years retail experience, internship, or experience working in an office.
  • Foundational knowledge/demonstrated interest in outdoor plants/gardening.
  • Excellent organizational, prioritization, and time management skills.
  • Exhibits high sense of urgency and ability to manage multiple priorities at once.
  • Strong communication, time management, and interpersonal skills.
