Bring iconic brands to life for audiences around the world. As a Global Visual Designer, you'll help shape the creative evolution of Hearst Magazines International's portfolio by translating bold editorial ideas into compelling visual experiences that resonate across print, digital, and social platforms.

About Hearst Magazines (Why Us?)

Hearst Magazines is home to 30 world-renowned brands that inform, inspire, and entertain millions of consumers across platforms. From trusted editorial to innovative storytelling and premium experiences, we create content that connects with audiences in meaningful ways. Joining Hearst means collaborating with talented teams across editorial, creative, technology, product, and business functions while helping shape the future of media on a global scale.

Key Responsibilities (What You Are Doing)

  • Shape and evolve visual identity systems across Hearst Magazines International's portfolio, ensuring a cohesive and modern brand presence.
  • Develop and refine typography, color palettes, layout frameworks, and other visual standards that scale across global markets and platforms.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive brand guidelines that support consistency while allowing for thoughtful local adaptation.
  • Lead creative direction for editorial design, including print features, covers, layouts, and visual storytelling packages.
  • Design engaging creative assets across digital experiences, including websites, mobile products, and platform-native social content.
  • Partner closely with editorial, design, marketing, and creative teams across international markets to deliver high-quality, culturally relevant work.
  • Present creative concepts, curate photography and illustration, oversee image retouching, and ensure exceptional execution across all brand touchpoints.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to translate audience insights and emerging trends into visually compelling campaigns that drive engagement and growth.

Qualifications (What We're Looking For)

  • 4+ years of experience in magazine publishing, digital media, a creative agency, or a related creative environment.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating excellence in visual storytelling, typography, editorial design, and brand systems.
  • Advanced proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite; experience with Figma or similar collaborative design tools.
  • Experience designing across print, digital, and social platforms with an understanding of platform-specific best practices.
  • Strong visual communication skills with the ability to present creative ideas clearly and incorporate feedback effectively.
  • Excellent collaboration, organization, and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Curiosity, cultural awareness, and a passion for creating thoughtful, audience-focused creative work for global markets.
  • Hybrid work arrangement requiring 4 days per week in our New York, NY office.

Benefits (What We Offer)

  • Work with the Best: Collaborate with top-tier professionals across media, advertising, tech, fashion, lifestyle, and publishing, shaping the future of these dynamic industries.
  • Grow Your Skills: Unlock your potential with access to innovative training programs, immersive workshops, and exclusive industry events.

  • Wellness First: Prioritize your well-being with a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance from Day 1.
  • Plan for Your Financial Future: Enjoy competitive financial perks, including a 401(k) plan with a generous company match.

The base salary range for this role is $66,300-$80,000. This position is not eligible for bonus or commission compensation. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, qualifications, and location.
