Veteran Benefits Guide is seeking a creative and technically skilled Video Content Producer to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who is comfortable behind the camera and in the editing suite and who enjoys turning ideas into compelling video content that resonates with diverse audiences.


You will be responsible for planning, shooting, and editing high-quality video across multiple platforms, including longer-form content, short-form social videos, documentary-style storytelling, and trend-driven content for digital channels. Your work will help bring our mission to life through stories that honor and connect with Veterans and their communities.

Requirements

Essential functions:

  • Plan, shoot, and edit high-quality video content across multiple platforms.
  • Operate cameras, lighting, and audio equipment to capture professional-grade footage on location and in the studio.
  • Edit and produce final video content using industry-standard editing software.
  • Collaborate with team members on creative direction, storyboarding, and content ideas.
  • Adapt video content for various platforms and delivery specifications (e.g., mobile, web, TV-style, social).
  • Add music, graphics, captions, transitions, and color grading to enhance storytelling and brand consistency.
  • Manage and organize media files, footage, and project assets to ensure efficient production workflows.
  • Stay current on content creation trends, editing styles, and emerging video formats.
  • Deliver projects on schedule while maintaining high production quality and brand alignment.


Qualifications and Competencies:

Required

  • Proven experience as a videographer and video editor.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating a range of content formats (short-form, long-form, social, documentary-style, etc.).
  • Advanced proficiency in industry-standard video production tools and software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, or similar).
  • Experience filming with professional cameras, lighting setups, stabilizing gear, and audio equipment.
  • Strong storytelling ability and visual composition skills.


Preferred

  • Experience with motion graphics and animation.
  • Knowledge of social media video trends, platform best practices, and social media growth strategies.
  • Experience working in fast-paced, resource-lean environments where adaptability is essential.
  • Drone videography experience (a plus).
  • Degree in film, video production, cinematography, or media studies (preferred).
  • Military Veteran status or experience working with military or Veteran-serving organizations, or strong familiarity with military and Veteran culture (a plus).

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of five years of professional videography and editing experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce polished, platform-appropriate video content under tight deadlines.
  • Strong technical and creative expertise across the full production lifecycle.
  • 5-7 years of progressive experience in operations or production management, preferably in claims processing, insurance, finance, or healthcare.
  • At least 3 years of direct people management experience, including hiring, coaching, performance management, and team development.
  • Demonstrated success in process improvement and workflow optimization.
  • Experience analyzing KPI data, generating reports, and presenting recommendations to leadership.


Education


  • Bachelor's degree in film production, Media Production, Communications, or related field preferred. Equivalent professional training or demonstrated expertise is accepted.
