Job description

Purpose: The Quality Assurance Inspector works under direct supervision to ensure processes related to quality are followed, production processes are monitored, purchased components are inspected and requirements outlined in drawings and specifications are met.

Key Areas of Responsibilities:

  1. Performs visual and dimensional inspection of manufactured and purchased parts to ensure conformance to internal requirements and customer specifications.
  2. Performs tests that verify the functionality of a product or part utilizing appropriate measuring and testing equipment.
  3. Monitors production processes to ensure conformance to engineering specifications.
  4. Ensures processes related to the Quality Management System are understood and followed.
  5. Performs process audits to ensure adherence to work instructions.
  6. Performs dock audits to ensure adherence to shipping and packaging standards.
  7. Records data into databases that contain inspection records.
  1. Maintains work area by cleaning, organizing, and sweeping, as necessary.
  2. Adheres to all safety policies and procedures and maintains a safe and clean work area.

Job Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
    1. High School Diploma required
    2. Degree in Engineering or a technical field is a plus
    3. Experience in an ISO 9001 environment is preferred
    4. Previous quality experience is preferred
    5. Previous experience with a Quality Management System is preferred
  • Ability to operate effectively both as an individual and as a part of a team
  • Basic mechanical and math aptitude
  • Basic computer skills including word processing and spreadsheet proficiency
  • Basic mental and visual attention to detail
  • Basic written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic organizational skills and ability to multi-task
  • Ability to read simple blueprints
  • Ability to use calibrated gages, tools, and fixtures

Physical Effort and Work Environment

  • Work performed in a shop environment
  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending and reaching
  • Frequent lifting of up to 30 pounds
  • Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds and maneuvering higher weight with assistance
