The Business Development Partner is a high-growth role focused on market intelligence, customer engagement, and growth strategy execution. This individual will work closely with company leadership to identify opportunities, support customer acquisition efforts, develop market insights, and contribute to strategic growth initiatives across aerospace, defense, and advanced materials markets. 
Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct market, customer, and competitor research across aerospace, defense, space, maritime, and advanced materials sectors.
  • Identify and qualify new business opportunities, strategic partnerships, and potential customers.
  • Support business development leadership in customer outreach, account planning, and opportunity management.
  • Assist in preparation for customer meetings, technical reviews, and proposal activities.
  • Develop market analyses, opportunity assessments, and strategic growth recommendations.
  • Track industry trends, government programs, and emerging technology opportunities.
  • Support conference, trade show, and networking activities to generate leads and expand market presence.
  • Maintain customer relationship and opportunity tracking systems.
  • Prepare briefing materials, customer profiles, and competitive intelligence reports.
  • Assist with strategic planning and business growth initiatives across the Canopy portfolio.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Economics, Communications, or related field.
  • 1–3 years of relevant experience and/or strong internship experience.
  • Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • High attention to detail and organizational capability.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Professional proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Self-motivated with a strong desire to learn and grow in aerospace and defense markets.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Exposure to aerospace, defense, government contracting, advanced manufacturing, or advanced materials industries.
  • Experience supporting business development, sales, strategy, consulting, or market research functions.
  • Familiarity with customer relationship management (CRM) systems.
  • Experience preparing presentations, market analyses, or executive briefings.
  • Evidence of entrepreneurial initiatives, leadership, or side projects.
Physical Requirements / Work Environments
  • Ability to work in office, lab, and manufacturing environments.
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs and perform tasks involving standing, walking, bending.

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
