Responsibilities:

  1. The Visual Designer is responsible for conceptualizing and designing visual communications and digital interfaces aimed to support the Bank's mission and vision while strengthening reputation and maintaining identity standards. The position ensures that these communications effectively serve the public, support the Bank's mission, and advance understanding of the organization by partnering with stakeholders and IT to deliver effective, modern solutions. The Visual Designer leverages emerging AI enhanced design tools to improve creativity, efficiency, and design quality while upholding brand standards and responsible AI practices.
  2. Consult with project teams to understand business and design goals.
  3. Apply industry best practices to create strong, user centered designs for moderately complex visual and interface challenges.
  4. Lead the design process from concept through production, using AI assisted ideation, layout exploration, image generation, and workflow automation to support speed and quality.
  5. Produce final design assets in close collaboration with UX/Design colleagues.
  6. Analyze business needs with support from the team to inform design recommendations.
  7. Create design artifacts-sketches, wireframes, storyboards, charts, graphics, data visualizations, and interactive layouts-using AI driven tools where appropriate to accelerate exploration and improve outcomes.
  8. Collaborate with UX/Design, Digital Strategy, IT, and Communications teams to determine required updates or enhancements to digital programs.
  9. Stay current with design research, industry trends, and advancements in AI supported creative workflows.
  10. Participate in user research activities and, when aligned with Bank standards, use AI powered synthesis tools to identify patterns or derive insights.
  11. Demonstrate strong collaboration, reliability, and customer service.
  12. Use AI tools to assist with initial data visualization concepts and automated formatting.
  13. Source original and stock imagery, and when appropriate, responsibly use AI image generation tools to support concept development and creative iteration.
  14. Maintain and promote brand guidelines, including standards for ethical, transparent, and responsible use of AI in creative work.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in graphic design, visual studies, or related field, with 3-5 years of related experience.
  2. Ability to work effectively on multidisciplinary teams.
  3. Strong creative and problem solving abilities.
  4. Excellent planning, prioritization, and organizational skills.
  5. Strong design, typography, and production skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  6. Strong ability to articulate design decisions clearly and concisely.
  7. Understanding of user centered design principles.
  8. Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud and modern design tools.
  9. Competence with HTML and CSS.
  10. Knowledge of digital photo/video production is a plus.
  11. Strong interpersonal skills and customer service orientation.
  12. Experience using AI assisted design tools (e.g., generative imagery, layout suggestions, automated pattern libraries).
  13. Ability to evaluate AI outputs for accuracy, accessibility, ethical use, and brand alignment.
  14. Awareness of evolving AI capabilities and willingness to integrate them appropriately into design workflows.
