Visual Design & Experience Specialist
Remote
The Visual Design & Experience Specialist works with sales teams, end users, and channel partners to help customers make confident decisions through visualization, design-led engagement, and customer-focused experiences. This role blends design, customer experience, sales support, training, and innovation across the end-to-end buying journey, while also contributing to larger enterprise visual opportunities.
The Specialist creates visual concepts, design recommendations, and customer-facing, as well as training experiences that reduce uncertainty, inspire action, and support sales conversations. In addition to supporting programs such as DesignWorks, this role contributes to initiatives focused on customer engagement, lead generation, digital experiences, and sales conversion.
This role also supports the evaluation, adoption, and application of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence and visualization platforms, to improve customer experiences, business outcomes, and sales effectiveness.
This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about design, enjoys understanding customer needs, and is excited to explore how visual experiences influence the home improvement buying journey.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Experience, Sales Enablement, & Innovation:
  • Create visual experiences that strengthen customer conversations and purchasing decisions.
  • Support customer journeys that move homeowners from inspiration to action.
  • Identify opportunities to improve engagement, sales effectiveness, and conversion through visualization and design-led experiences.
  • Support pilot programs and emerging initiatives designed to attract, engage, and convert prospective customers.
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, digital, and customer experience teams to test and refine new concepts.
  • Assist with designer consultations, pre-appointment visual experiences, digital inspiration tools, design-focused lead generation, and visualization-driven customer journeys.
  • Gather customer feedback and performance insights to guide future improvements and investment decisions.
  • Contribute ideas that enhance customer engagement, differentiate the brand, and support business growth.
  • Research and evaluate emerging technologies, artificial intelligence solutions, and visualization platforms that enhance customer engagement, customer experience, and sales effectiveness.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage artificial intelligence, automation, and new software capabilities to improve efficiency, scalability, and customer experiences.

Design Consultation & Visual Communication:
  • Support sales teams and distribution partners by creating visualizations of windows, doors, and exterior materials that help bring projects to life.
  • Apply design principles including color, scale, proportion, architectural style, curb appeal, and interior aesthetics.
  • Translate customer inspiration, project goals, and product selections into compelling visual experiences.
  • Support interior and exterior projects by helping customers understand design options and outcomes.

Program & Project Coordination:
  • Manage multiple projects, requests, and initiatives while maintaining quality and accuracy.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional partners to support successful execution.
  • Maintain project documentation, timelines, and follow-through.
  • Share learnings and recommendations that improve efficiency, customer experience, or business impact.

Product & Industry Knowledge:
  • Build expertise in products, materials, finishes, styles, and applications.
  • Stay informed on residential design trends, home improvement preferences, and customer expectations.
  • Develop proficiency in visualization tools, customer engagement strategies, and design technology.
  • Serve as a knowledgeable resource for design-related guidance and recommendations.
  • Stay current on advancements in artificial intelligence, visualization technology, customer experience trends, and digital engagement tools to identify opportunities for innovation and business growth.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Marketing, Communications, Customer Experience, Visual Merchandising, Sales, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience or strong interest in design, home improvement, architecture, customer experience, or sales support.
  • Strong visual and aesthetic judgment with an understanding of residential design principles.
  • Experience with design, rendering, presentation, or visualization software preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to balance creativity with business objectives.
  • Strong organizational, project management, and prioritization skills.
  • Comfortable working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
  • Interest in innovation, experimentation, and continuous improvement.
  • Strong interest in artificial intelligence, emerging technologies, digital transformation, and continuous innovation.
  • Experience evaluating, implementing, supporting, or training users on software platforms, visualization tools, or technology solutions preferred.

The targeted pay range for this role is $60,000 - $80,000/year. The total compensation package for this position may also include applicable incentive compensation, such as an annual bonus. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, specific work geography, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
