Job description

A rapidly growing fintech company transforming how people approach financial planning is looking for a Staff Visual Designer, Brand & Growth to help define and scale the visual identity of a modern financial services brand. By combining expert human financial guidance with technology, AI, and automation, the company is building a new model for financial planning that goes beyond traditional investment management. Its mission is to make comprehensive financial advice more accessible, personalized, and relevant to every part of a person's financial life.

In this role, you'll help shape how the brand comes to life across the entire customer experience, from marketing campaigns and websites to digital products, advertising, communications, and in-product growth experiences. The company has recently launched a new mobile experience that established an evolved visual direction, and you'll play a critical role in taking that foundation and turning it into a cohesive, scalable design language across the broader brand ecosystem. Working closely with Growth Marketing, Product Marketing, Product Design, Engineering, and leadership, you'll combine exceptional visual craft with systems thinking to create work that is both distinctive and highly effective.

This is a major opportunity for a senior designer who thrives on autonomy and wants to have a meaningful influence on a fast-growing technology company. You'll work as a strategic partner to the Head of Design, helping define the creative direction while establishing the systems, frameworks, and workflows that allow the organization to move faster without sacrificing quality. If you're passionate about brand, visual design, growth, and creating digital experiences that build trust with customers, this role offers tremendous ownership and the opportunity to leave a lasting creative fingerprint on the company.

Required Skills & Experience
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience in visual, brand, web, or digital design at a Senior or Staff level, ideally within consumer digital products

  • Outstanding online portfolio demonstrating exceptional visual craft across brand systems, responsive web, marketing, and growth experiences

  • Strong visual design instincts combined with the ability to think systematically and create scalable, reusable design systems

  • Deep expertise designing responsive web experiences with a strong understanding of modern web capabilities, accessibility, and performance

  • Expert-level proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud

  • Demonstrated experience developing cohesive visual languages across multiple channels and customer touchpoints

  • Experience using generative AI as a meaningful part of your creative workflow to increase velocity, explore concepts, and develop new creative approaches

  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate and defend design decisions with stakeholders and leadership

  • Self-starter who thrives in ambiguous environments and can independently take projects from initial concept through execution

Desired Skills & Experience
  • Experience working closely with Growth Marketing, Product Marketing, Product Design, Engineering, and external creative agencies

  • Experience designing high-performing marketing websites and digital experiences that balance storytelling, usability, accessibility, and business objectives

  • Experience with A/B testing, conversion rate optimization, or growth experimentation

  • Experience building campaign toolkits, creative frameworks, and scalable brand systems

  • Strong understanding of typography, color, layout, motion, interaction, and visual storytelling

  • Experience building AI-assisted creative workflows or asset production systems

  • Background in fintech, financial services, consumer technology, lifestyle, or wellness

  • Experience working within a fast-growing startup where priorities and brand direction evolve quickly

  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong sense of ownership and willingness to proactively identify opportunities

  • Comfortable collaborating with product managers, engineers, marketers, and senior leadership in a highly cross-functional environment

What You Will Be Doing Daily Responsibilities
  • Lead the visual direction and execution of high-impact initiatives across the company's marketing and brand ecosystem

  • Define and evolve the visual design system across typography, color, layout, motion, imagery, and interaction

  • Design best-in-class marketing websites and digital experiences that balance strong storytelling with usability and business performance

  • Create compelling visual experiences across integrated marketing campaigns, advertising, email, presentations, and other customer-facing channels

  • Partner closely with Growth Marketing and Product Marketing to translate business objectives and performance signals into high-impact creative

  • Collaborate with Product Design and Engineering to extend the visual language into in-product growth experiences when needed

  • Develop scalable campaign toolkits and creative frameworks that improve consistency and reduce reliance on external agencies

  • Build reusable components and systems that allow the broader organization to create high-quality work more efficiently

  • Design and implement AI-assisted creative workflows that increase the speed and scale of asset production

  • Translate complex ideas into clear, distinctive, and customer-centered visual experiences

  • Participate in cross-functional design critiques and confidently communicate design rationale to stakeholders and leadership

  • Continuously refine and evolve the brand as the company grows, ensuring every customer touchpoint reflects a cohesive and high-quality design language
