Whether you work at our headquarters in Charlotte, North Carolina, the Billy Graham Library in Charlotte, North Carolina, the Billy Graham Training Center at the Cove (BGTC) in Asheville, North Carolina, Blue Ridge Broadcasting (BRB) in Asheville, North Carolina or a field office abroad, you are part of a team of committed Christians working together to reach people to the ends of the earth with the Gospel.

Department Detail – The Visitors Center maintains the standard of Servant Hospitality of The Billy Graham Training Center at the Cove (BGTC). The Visitors Center staff welcomes, informs and assists guests and visitors who are visiting the BGTC.

Job Summary – The Visitor's Center Assistant guides visitors through the Visitor’s Center and assists with managing volunteers.

Ministry Requirements

  • Maintains a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ and is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ
  • Faithfully upholds BGEA in prayer
  • Participates in daily BGEA staff devotions including Bible reading, and leading group prayer as schedule permits
  • Demonstrates behavior aligned with BGEA’s Mission Statement, Statement of Faith, Hallmarks, policies, and expectations
  • Effectively represents Jesus Christ to those within both personal and professional spheres of influence

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Works closely with gatehouse personnel and Visitor’s Center greeter to welcome visitors and assist with parking
  • Assists visitors with physical needs
  • Shares a brief history about the BGTC ministry
  • Assists in maintaining accurate visitor information and data records
  • Calculates, records, and communicates Prayer Requests to Intercessor Coordinator
  • Assist with TVTM set up and data entry statistics
  • Ensures all visitors have the opportunity to complete an attendance form
  • Answers questions and leads visitors in a general prayer if requested
  • Assists with volunteer needs and training
  • Assists with and/or leads daily devotions with volunteers
  • Creates and manages schedules for volunteers
  • Organizes and distribute materials throughout building
  • Assists in ensuring aesthetic and maintenance of the Visitor’s Center, submitting requests for repairs to the Property Staff

Job Specifications

Skills and Knowledge

  • Experience with Microsoft Office, with particular strength in Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in written form with staff of all levels of the association, as well as volunteers, especially one-on-one and in small groups
  • Ability to take initiative with required tasks, delivering the requested results
  • Commitment to hospitality and excellence
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team without close supervision
  • Ability to analyze and make decisions based on BGTC protocols
  • Maintain confidentiality where appropriate

Physical/Mental Demands

  • Capacity to prioritize work and manage multiple projects in a high-paced environment
  • Demonstrated flexibility to adapt to changing job parameters, deadlines, or directions
  • Ability to problem solve and find necessary solutions when problems arise
  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift 35 pounds and have full range of motion
  • Ability to work under pressure

Working Conditions

  • Work is typically performed in a Visitor's Center environment
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including some Saturdays
