Description
The purpose of this position is to assist with municipal compliance of local, state, and federal regulations through managing and coordinating the activities of the Village's Stormwater Management Program. The position may also assist department activities for street and utility maintenance/construction projects as needed. The work is performed under the direction of the Director of Public Works.
Examples of Duties
  • Inspects and maintains record of construction site erosion control installations.
  • Inspects stormwater management practices during and after construction for conformance to plans.
  • Inspects Village-owned stormwater management practices in accordance with Operation and Maintenance Plans.
  • Review and address drainage concerns by responding to citizen inquiries and complaints regarding the stormwater program and site drainage.

Additional Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Answers office telephone calls regarding citizen complaints. Oversee a stormwater complaint intake and resolution process.
  • May assist Street Department or Utility Department with various tasks depending on workload.
  • Assists with performing screenings of the Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System outfalls in accordance with the Village's Illicit Discharge, Detection, and Elimination program.

Minimum Job Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent, with related stormwater/construction field work experience; or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Must have education and/or experience with survey equipment
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • A valid driver's license
  • Reliable in attendance and flexible to work additional hours as needed.
  • Able to work independently with little instruction at times or as a team.
