โญ What Youโ€™ll DoThe Grain Roasting Operator is responsible for operating and monitoring roasting equipment to process grain products to specified quality standards. This role ensures consistent product quality, efficient production flow, and adherence to all food safety, quality, and safety regulations within a manufacturing environment.

TYPICAL JOB DUTIES:

  • Roasting Operations
    • Operate grain roasting equipment and associated control systems
    • Monitor roasting temperatures, dwell times, airflow, and product throughput to meet specifications
    • Adjust process parameters to ensure consistent product color, flavor, moisture, and texture
    • Start up, shut down, and clean roasting equipment following standard operating procedures
  • Product Quality Control

    • Inspect roasted grain for quality attributes such as color, aroma, moisture content, and uniformity
    • Collect samples and perform basic testing or submit samples for lab analysis
    • Identify and respond to deviations in product quality or process performance
    • Maintain adherence to product specifications and customer requirements
  • Material Handling

    • Coordinate with grain handling and production teams to ensure proper flow of raw materials and finished products
    • Load raw grain into roasting equipment and transfer finished product to downstream processes or storage
    • Maintain proper lot tracking and traceability of materials
  • Equipment Maintenance & Sanitation

    • Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on roasting equipment
    • Clean equipment and surrounding areas to prevent cross-contamination and buildup
    • Identify mechanical issues and coordinate repairs with maintenance personnel
    • Follow lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures when servicing equipment
  • Safety & Compliance

    • Follow all safety procedures, including working with high-temperature equipment and combustible dust controls
    • Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
    • Maintain a clean and organized work environment
  • Documentation & Reporting

    • Record production data, including batch information, process conditions, and output volumes
    • Complete production logs, quality checks, and downtime reports
    • Report safety concerns, equipment issues, or quality deviations promptly
  • Other

    • Adhere to all government and company safety, sanitation and GMP policies and regulations. Adhere to Food Safety, Quality and SQF Codes
