Job description

The Senior Systems / Development Engineer is a highly experienced Information Technology professional responsible for designing, securing, integrating, and maintaining complex enterprise and mission-critical systems, primarily in support of Department of Defense (DoD) programs. This role requires active Top Secret security clearance and deep expertise in systems engineering, virtualization, and storage technology with a strong focus on compliance with the Risk Management Framework (RMF). This position serves as a technical leader and subject matter expert in the integration, testing, validation, and sustainment of simulation systems lab environments and Army Mission Command (MC) systems. The engineer ensures secure and efficient interoperability between virtualized systems while maintaining compliance with all cybersecurity and accreditation requirements. Key Responsibilities:
โ€ข Perform systems engineering and integration activities across complex environments, including simulation systems and Mission Command platforms. โ€ข Hybrid or Self-Hosted Cloud Experience with emphasis on integration between Cloud/On-Prem and lift/shift type operations.
โ€ข Lead system integration testing, validation, and troubleshooting efforts to ensure operational effectiveness and interoperability. โ€ข Architect and support virtualization infrastructures using VMware vSphere and enterprise storage solutions including SAN, NAS, and DAS. โ€ข Manage system installations, upgrades, maintenance, and troubleshooting across a wide range of hardware and operating systems. โ€ข Lead and mentor teams of engineers and security professionals, ensuring successful project execution and compliance with timelines and requirements. โ€ข Provide end-user support, training, and technical guidance as needed. Technical Expertise:
โ€ข Operating Systems: Microsoft Windows (all versions), Red Hat Enterprise Linux, โ€ข Hardware: Enterprise servers, storage systems, network devices, and infrastructure components โ€ข Software & Tools: VMware vSphere, Microsoft Server technologies, SQL Server, Exchange, Veeam, Backup Exec, NetApp
โ€ข Infrastructure: Infrastructure configuration for Virtual environments and SAN/NAS/DAS environments (Veeam and NetApp) Preferred Domain Expertise:
โ€ข Risk Management Framework (RMF) implementation for DoD systems โ€ข Systems engineering, integration, and lifecycle management โ€ข Simulation systems integration (NGC, JPMRC-IS, JLCCTC, WARSIM environments) โ€ข Army Mission Command systems (e.g., AFATDS, GCCS-A, DCGS-A, CPOF) Leadership & Impact:

This role operates in both lab and field environments, including Systems Integration Labs (SIL), and requires collaboration with engineering teams, government stakeholders, and cybersecurity personnel. The position may involve supporting system deployments, technology refresh cycles, and ongoing operational sustainment. Minimum Requirements:
โ€ข Active Top Secret security clearance โ€ข Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field required; Master's Degree preferred
โ€ข Minimum 10 years of IT experience โ€ข DoD 8140 IAT Leve 2 Certified (ie Security+ , CCNA, CASP)
โ€ข Strong working knowledge of RMF and DoD cybersecurity requirements โ€ข Demonstrated experience with enterprise-level infrastructure and virtualization technologies This position is critical to ensuring the security, performance, and interoperability of mission-critical systems supporting national defense objectives.
