Bethel, Alaska

The Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation is a Tribal health care organization, serving nearly 30,000 people living across rural, southwest Alaska in villages with populations from about 10 to more than 1,000. Bethel, the regional hub and location of the only hospital in the region, has a population of nearly 7,000. The Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta is home to thousands of lakes and two primary rivers-the Kuskokwim and Yukon.

Position Qualifications:
  • An Associate of Applied Science in Computer Information Technology and Systems Management
  • Preferred: A Bachelor of Science in Information Technology degree with an emphasis on Networking or Information Management
  • May substitute for a Microsoft MCSE OR graduation from accredited network management, network wiring, and transport protocol courses in preparation for required position accountabilities
  • 2+ years working experience with VMware View and ThinApp technologies in an Enterprise level environment
  • 2+ years working experience with VMware vSphere in an Enterprise level environment
  • 2+ years working with Windows 2008/2012 Active Directory environments
  • 2+ years working experience with SharePoint 2007 or higher and Exchange 2010 or higher
  • 2+ years working experience with database technologies (SQL, Microsoft SQL server, Oracle, etc.)
  • 2+ years working with SAN technologies, i.e., iSCSI, Fiber Channel and FCoIP (fiber channel over Internet Protocol)
  • Required:
    • CompTIA Network+ & CompTIA Server+
    • Valid VCP (VMware Certified Profession certification)
  • Preferred:
    • Microsoft MCP (Microsoft Certified Professional)
    • Cisco Certifications (CCENT or above)
    • Valid CompTIA certifications (A+, Security+)
  • Competent and proficient understanding of Microsoft Technologies (Active Directory, DHCP,DNS)
  • Strong understanding of how to properly configure the computer network to best serves the corporation's applications and services
  • Experience with Network related monitoring tools (Load balancers, virtualization monitoring tools, etc.)
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Strong understanding of the corporation's goals and objectives
  • Ability to effectively communicate with Technology Staff and customers to correctly identify problems and collaboratively develop solutions
  • Must be capable of working independent or with the team on high level (and often vague) tasks or projects
