Description
Maps Credit Union seeks an Operations Trainer to join our Learning & Development team. Reporting to the Manager of Learning & Development, the Operations Trainer primarily provides financial services-related training and support to Credit Union and branch staff by utilizing a blend of classroom, virtual, e-learning, and one-on-one training. Additionally, this position leads systems training, conducts needs assessments and skills evaluations, and supports company-wide Learning & Development initiatives. The Operations Trainer serves over fourteen branches, and flexibility to deliver training onsite as needed is essential. The ideal candidate for this role is personable, a team player, coachable, and comfortable presenting trainings in front of large groups of employees.
The Operations Trainer will:
  • Collaborate with the Learning and Development team, managers, and Credit Union staff to provide essential operational training and support to all employees.
  • Play a key role in planning and implementing the Credit Union's employee and member education and training programs, ensuring they align with the organization's strategic goals and service quality standards.
  • Maintain a commitment to continuous learning, staying current in all assigned training areas, and acting as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in branch/teller best-practices.
  • Conduct needs assessments to determine skill gaps and focus areas and ensure training initiatives are met.
  • Develop and deliver training programs, including blended learning, to ensure staff are up-to-date on operational procedures and policies.
  • Assist in designing and editing training manuals, related materials, training classes, and training procedures.
  • Host "train-the-trainer" sessions for internal subject matter experts.
  • Track trainees' progress through routine tests, observation, and feedback from managers and/or designated mentors; evaluate the effectiveness of the current training.
  • Provide timely feedback to managers on employee progress and offer performance coaching and feedback.
  • Serve as a role model for upholding the organization's core values and professional behavior.
  • Actively participate in the decision-making process that shapes the Credit Union's future, fostering and advancing the organization's culture and goals.
  • Help identify and document learning and process standards for the required learning programs and maintain consistency, sustainability, and compliance.
  • Perform other job-related duties as required.

Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Advanced interpersonal skills to foster relationships and successfully motivate, influence, and train others.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively and project a professional image.
  • Strong training and presentation skills, with the ability to tailor training to different learning styles.
  • Ability to foster and promote a positive attitude toward a sales and service culture that achieves Credit Union sales goals.
  • Accurate typing/keyboarding skills; intermediate computer skills, including the use of word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software applications, e-mail, and departmental-specific software.
  • Ability to remain flexible in order to adapt to changes in the work environment.
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude; encouraging and supporting positive employee, member, and vendor interactions.

Qualifications:
  1. Minimum of two years of operational training experience.
  2. Demonstrated experience using adult learning principles and traditional and modern training methods (mentoring, facilitation, team building, coaching, on-the-job or in-classroom training, e-learning, workshops, simulations, etc.).
  3. A two-year college degree in business, economics, banking training, or equivalent completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school, or any equivalent course of study combined with equivalent experience.
  4. Financial institution experience is preferred.
  5. Must be bondable.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, business hours.
This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule (2 days remote and 3 days onsite) after successful completion of a 90-day probationary period.
Starting Exempt Salary: $61,339 - $68,155 per year, depending on relevant experience.
