Job description

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This contract role offers you the chance to engage in a flexible, short-term position focused entirely on one-on-one virtual tutoring. Work closely with students in need of academic support and help set the foundation for their future learning as you collaborate with caring educators and families.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Current Special Education Teacher licensure for moderate disabilities, grades 5-12.
  • Experience working with high school students in a special education setting.
  • Proficiency in teaching and tutoring high school-level math concepts and adapting instruction to diverse learning needs.
  • Comfortable with virtual/online teaching platforms and technology.
  • Excellent communication skills, patience, and a genuine passion for helping students achieve their goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized virtual tutoring to a high school student with special education needs, focusing on math competencies.
  • Develop and adapt lesson plans and strategies according to the studentโ€™s IEP and learning profile.
  • Track student progress through assessments, regular feedback, and progress notes.
  • Foster a positive, empowering learning environmentโ€”encouraging the studentโ€™s active participation and self-confidence.
  • Collaborate effectively with educational teams and families as needed to ensure consistency and ongoing support.
