Job description

Requisition ID: 257990
Join a purpose driven winning team, committed to results, in an inclusive and high-performing culture.

Leads and oversees Virtual Workspace Engineering as an end-to-end product and engineering function, accountable for the strategy, architecture, engineering, operational stability, and continuous evolution of the Bank's virtual workspace platforms. The role owns both the current service landscape and the future transformation roadmap, ensuring reliable, secure, scalable, and user-centric delivery across enterprise virtual workspace services.

This leader is accountable for the present and future of the virtual workspace domain, including Citrix, virtual desktop and application delivery, Omnissa Horizon, and the strategic evolution toward Windows 365 Cloud PC. The role combines director-level leadership, product ownership, and senior principal engineering depth to simplify the environment, modernize the platform, improve service resilience, and translate technology investments into business outcomes.

Ensures all activities are conducted in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, standards, and procedures.

Acts as the senior leader for a complex enterprise virtual workspace product domain that must simultaneously run, improve, and transform. The role defines the product vision, engineering direction, and service operating model for virtual workspace technologies across the Bank, balancing user experience, resilience, simplification, security, operational control, and cost discipline.

The incumbent serves as the senior technical authority and business-facing product leader for the domain, shaping priorities, investment choices, architecture patterns, engineering standards, operational processes, and modernization roadmaps.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
Leads and oversees the Virtual Workspace Engineering function, ensuring strategic alignment, strong service ownership, and execution against business and technology priorities.
Owns the product strategy and engineering roadmap for the virtual workspace domain across current and future platforms, including Citrix, Omnissa Horizon, virtual desktop and application delivery, and Windows 365 Cloud PC. Ensures the roadmap balances business demand, engineering feasibility, risk, operational readiness, supportability, and long-term simplification.
Acts as the most senior technical leader in the domain, providing deep expertise across architecture, systems design, engineering, automation, service operations, and platform optimization. Leads complex design decisions across networking, latency, geographic distribution, resiliency, capacity, security, compliance, identity, and endpoint integration.
Owns operational stability and service excellence for the live environment, including availability, performance, supportability, incident response, root-cause analysis, problem management, lifecycle management, and permanent corrective actions.
Defines and drives simplification of the virtual workspace ecosystem by rationalizing complexity, improving operational efficiency, reducing platform sprawl where appropriate, and standardizing engineering and service patterns.
Champions modernization and innovation through product thinking, proofs of concept, proofs of value, and disciplined execution. Leads the transition toward modern cloud-based virtual workspace capabilities, including Windows 365 Cloud PC, while ensuring coexistence and sound operational governance across legacy and strategic platforms.
Translates business priorities into a clear product backlog and engineering execution plan, partnering with stakeholders across infrastructure, security, architecture, operations, support, and lines of business. Ensures technology direction is tied to measurable business outcomes, service quality, risk reduction, and user experience improvements.
Defines target architecture, reference patterns, engineering standards, automation, and operational controls for the domain. Ensures solutions are scalable, secure, supportable, and documented, and that knowledge is embedded into the organization rather than concentrated in individuals.
Builds and leads a high-performing, inclusive, and globally distributed team through strong leadership, talent development, coaching, succession planning, and clarity of accountability.
Drives strong governance, risk management, and control discipline across the domain, embedding security, resilience, compliance, and operational risk awareness into daily decision-making.
Serves as a senior escalation point and trusted advisor for complex platform, architecture, operational, and transformation issues. Engages effectively with executive stakeholders, engineering leaders, vendors, and cross-functional partners to influence outcomes, align decisions, and drive delivery

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Extensive progressive experience in enterprise infrastructure, Enterprise Platforms, end user compute, virtual workspace engineering, or adjacent platform engineering environments, including significant experience leading complex engineering and operational functions in large-scale enterprises.
Strong people leadership experience, including leading managers and globally distributed teams, building high-performing organizations, and driving accountability across engineering and operations.
Deep expertise in virtual workspace and end user computing technologies, including strong experience with Citrix, virtual desktops and application delivery, Omnissa Horizon, Windows 365 Cloud PC, Microsoft Intune, Entra ID, identity and access patterns, and operational tooling relevant to platform performance and observability.

Hands-on technical credibility with automation, scripting, and engineering problem solving; ability to engage deeply in design and troubleshooting while operating effectively at leadership level.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate highly complex concepts into clear direction for executives, peers, customers, and technical teams.
High proficiency in English is required. Spanish is considered an asset for global collaboration.
Relevant certifications are an asset, particularly in Citrix, Horizon, Microsoft 365, Endpoint Management Intune, Security, Entra ID, and Azure.
