Job description

Under the general supervision of the special education teachers; the special education teacher assistant supports the implementation of student IEP's (Individualized Education Programs) by assisting the teacher in five areas of service: instructional support, management and supervision support, personal support, assessment support and materials management. Applicant will assist students in how to use Canvas, Zoom, Google Suite, and other technologies to thrive in a virtual learning environment. Work location is in-person. Must have a demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with students and parents using a variety of technologies including Zoom, phone, and email.


  • 25-hours per week.
     


Must complete Basic Training (5 hours) provided by JSD Special Education Department.  Training must be completed within one week of hire as a condition of employment.
Additional training is available through the Special Education department allowing the employee to increase to lane 4 upon completion.
