What is a virtual solar appointment setter?

Virtual Solar Appointment Setters are professionals who work remotely to contact potential customers, educate them about solar energy solutions, and schedule appointments for sales representatives. They typically use phone calls, emails, or online chat to engage leads, qualify prospects, and coordinate meetings. This role is essential for solar companies to expand their customer base and streamline the sales process by ensuring that only interested and eligible clients are connected with sales teams.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a virtual solar appointment setter?

To thrive as a Virtual Solar Appointment Setter, you need strong communication skills, persuasive sales abilities, and a basic understanding of solar energy products, often supported by prior experience in telemarketing or customer service. Familiarity with CRM software, autodialer systems, and online meeting platforms is typically required. Outstanding listening skills, resilience, and a positive attitude help you build rapport and handle rejection effectively. These skills are crucial for generating qualified leads, booking appointments, and supporting the overall sales pipeline in a remote environment.

Job description

$800/Week + Bonuses

Now hiring canvassers / appointment setters. Paid weekly. Real ramp support. Real bonus structure. Strong performers can create a path into long-term solar sales growth.

Position: Solar Canvasser / Appointment Setter

Location: Bridgeport, Connecticut

Company: Smart Roofs Solar

Why this role exists: We are building a serious canvassing operation to generate qualified residential solar appointments for our closing team. This is not a vague street-team role. It is a measurable, performance-based position with a guaranteed ramp, clear standards, weekly accountability, and real upside for people who can produce.

This role is supported by a strong market-specific offer in a dense local territory, giving canvassers a practical conversation starter instead of a cold generic pitch. The goal is to put reps in front of real opportunity, with a clear outreach approach, structured territory management, and a market where strong producers can make real money.

What you will do:

  • Knock doors and generate qualified residential solar appointments.
  • Represent the company professionally in the field.
  • Capture complete and accurate homeowner information.
  • Set appointments that are real, confirmed, and usable by the closing team.
  • Work within assigned territory, process, and quality standards.
  • Contribute to a team environment built around production, coaching, and accountability.

Compensation

Ramp guarantee

$800 per week for the first 8 weeks

Qualified appointment bonus

$100 per verified qualified appointment

Weekly bonus

$150 for 5 or more verified qualified appointments in a week

Monthly bonus

$1,000 for 20 or more verified qualified appointments in a calendar month

Pay structure note

Canvasser pay is based on verified qualified appointments, not whether a closer later closes the deal

How pay works: Guaranteed pay is processed weekly through payroll. Appointment bonuses and weekly bonuses are paid after verification of the prior week’s appointments. Monthly bonuses are paid after month-end reconciliation.

What counts as a qualified appointment

  • Correct homeowner or decision-maker information.
  • Valid phone number and property address.
  • Inside approved service area.
  • Properly entered into the CRM and routing system.
  • Not a duplicate lead.
  • Meets basic company qualification standards.

Important: A real, qualified, properly documented appointment is payable even if the homeowner later no-shows for reasons outside your control. Junk, fake, duplicate, or poorly qualified appointments do not count.

What success looks like

  • You produce real, confirmed appointments consistently.
  • You work with urgency, professionalism, and coachability.
  • You protect quality, not just volume.
  • You can hit performance standards such as 33 qualified appointments by day 60.
  • You help create appointment flow that supports 5 closes per closer in a 60-day window.

Who we are looking for

  • Comfortable talking to homeowners face-to-face.
  • Energetic, resilient, and not afraid of rejection.
  • Able to take coaching and improve quickly.
  • Organized enough to enter clean information and follow process.
  • Prior canvassing, door-to-door, setter, retail, sales, or customer-facing experience is helpful but not required if attitude and work ethic are strong.

Why this is attractive for the right person

  • Real guaranteed ramp pay instead of empty promises.
  • Weekly and monthly performance upside.
  • A cleaner pay model that does not force your income to depend on whether someone else closes the deal correctly.
  • Clear standards, clear coaching, and clear expectations.
  • Opportunity to build solar experience inside a real operating system, not a loose side hustle.

Application note

Applicants should be ready for a structured hiring process that may include a phone screen, live interview, role-play, and production standards review.

Quick summary

$800/week for the first 8 weeks + $100 per verified qualified appointment + $150 weekly bonus at 5+ appointments + $1,000 monthly bonus at 20+ appointments. This role rewards real appointment production, clean execution, and consistency.

Benefits:

  • Employee discount
  • Flexible schedule
  • Paid training

Work Location: On the road
