Job Purpose
The K-8 teacher is responsible for instructing and nurturing students in grades kindergarten through 8th grade. They play a crucial role in shaping students' educational and social development by providing a well-rounded curriculum and fostering a supportive classroom atmosphere.
Duties and Responsibilities
Primary job duties and responsibilities:
  • Develops and implements age-appropriate lesson plans and teaching strategies for various subjects, ensuring they align with state and district educational standards.
  • Establishes and maintains a well-organized, inclusive, and safe classroom environment that promotes active student participation, cooperation, and discipline.
  • Delivers engaging and effective instruction across multiple subjects, adapting teaching methods to cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Regularly assesses and evaluates student progress through quizzes, tests, assignments, and other assessment methods. Provide timely feedback to students and parents regarding academic performance.
  • Identifies and addresses the unique needs and challenges of individual students, including those with special educational requirements or learning disabilities.
  • Maintains open and proactive communication with parents and guardians to update them on students' progress, behavior, and any concerns.
  • Continuously engages in professional development activities to stay up to date on the latest teaching techniques, educational trends, and curriculum developments.

Qualifications, Education and Experience
