St. John Neumann Catholic School in Southwest Miami-Dade, Florida, a faith-filled Catholic school committed to academic excellence and spiritual formation, is seeking a full-time qualified Math Teacher (grades 6-8, including Algebra 1) for the 2026-2027 academic school year. This teacher will be expected to plan, organize, and implement an appropriate instructional program for math in a dynamic and innovative way. The ideal candidate is passionate about math, can help students learn and apply mathematical concepts, and is qualified to teach all levels of middle school mathematics. This teacher will be responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing an appropriate instructional program for middle school math students. The ability to cultivate critical thinking skills and motivate students is a must. The Middle School Mathematics teacher performs all duties and responsibilities in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of the Catholic Archdiocese of Miami and St. John Neumann Catholic School. Salary will vary based on certification and years of experience.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Math Education, master's degree in mathematics or Math Education preferred.
  • Florida Department of Education teaching certificate in Mathematics 5-9 or 6-12, temporary or professional required.
  • Must be knowledgeable in the levels of middle school math.
  • Excellent classroom management and program organizational skills, excellent attendance ethics, and high level of professionalism.
  • Demonstrated ability with technology skills needed for digital gradebooks, digital lessons, and interactive classroom technology.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite applications including Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Slides, and Google Forms is a plus.
  • Excellent oral and written English communication skills, including clear speaking voice.
  • Good spelling and grammar required.
  • Supportive and respectful of the mission and tenets of the Roman Catholic Church; experience in a Roman Catholic environment.
  • Knowledge of basic tenets of the Catholic Church and able to integrate the Catholic worldview throughout lessons.
  • Must have a professional demeanor, including the dress code and demonstrate positive teamwork practices within the professional environment.
