Job Title: Safety Trainer 
Location: Coppell, TX (On-site)
Compensation: $70,000 - $75,000 /Salary

Position Summary 

The Safety Trainer is responsible for developing, coordinating, and delivering safety training programs that support regulatory compliance, operational excellence, and a strong culture of safety throughout the organization. This role serves as the primary resource for safety-related training, facilitating engaging instructor-led and virtual learning experiences while ensuring employees are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to perform their work safely. The Safety Trainer partners closely with Operations, Safety, and Human Resources to support new hire onboarding, ongoing employee development, and continuous improvement initiatives.  This role will report to the Training Manager. 

Primary Responsibilities 

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all company safety training initiatives. 

  • Conduct weekly in-person or virtual New Hire Orientation delivering required corporate and safety onboarding to all new employees. 

  • Facilitate engaging instructor-led classroom, field, and virtual safety training programs for employees at all organizational levels. 

  • Deliver training through the company's Learning Management System (LMS) and instructor-led sessions using adult learning principles. 

  • Introduce employees to the Learning Management System (LMS) during orientation and provide guidance on required training assignments. 

  • Maintain accurate training records and prepare monthly and quarterly reports on training completion, compliance, and key performance metrics. 

  • Conduct routine field safety audits and observations to evaluate compliance with company policies, OSHA regulations, and established safe work practices. 

  • Provide coaching and feedback to field leaders and employees based on audit findings and recommend corrective actions when necessary. 

  • Assist with the implementation of new safety programs, policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. 

  • Travel to company offices, project locations, and customer sites to deliver training and conduct field safety observations. 

  • Maintain training materials to ensure compliance with OSHA and applicable federal, state, and local regulations. 

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications and Skills: 

  • OSHA500 or eligible to take OSHA500 once hired (eligibility - Course #510 (Standards for Construction) and have 5 years of construction safety experience (or a relevant college degree / safety certification like CSP or CIH to substitute 2 years).

  • 3+ years of experience delivering safety training in construction, utility, industrial, or field service environments. 

  • Experience facilitating instructor-led classroom and hands-on field training. 

  • Bachelor’s degree or associates preferred. 

  • Ability to evaluate, research and recommend training options and alternatives. 

  • Ability to build credibility and influence employees at all levels. 

  • Knowledge of OSHA standards and adult learning methodologies. 

  • Ability to adapt training methods for varying audiences and learning styles. 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.  

  • High level of enthusiasm, energy, and flexibility.  

  • Demonstrated experience with organizational skills. 

  • Positive attitude, with ability to collaborate with others and work in a team environment. 

  • Employees may be assigned additional duties, responsibilities, projects, work locations, or tasks based on operational and business needs.

Pay: 

  • $70,000 - $75,000/Salary
