About the Role

The Inpatient Tele-Medicine Rounding Nurse serves as the on-site clinical facilitator, supporting virtual neurological assessments, ensuring compliance with evidence-based stroke protocols, and strengthening communication between remote neurology providers and the interdisciplinary care team. This role collaborates with a tele-neurologist via a telehealth platform to coordinate daily inpatient stroke rounds.

What You’ll Do

  • Coordinate and conduct daily inpatient stroke rounds using a telehealth platform.
  • Prepare patients and families for virtual neurologist consultations.
  • Remain at bedside during tele-neurology evaluations to assist with real-time neurological assessments (NIHSS support).
  • Serve as a communication liaison between tele-neurologists, inpatient providers, patients, and families.
  • Recognize and escalate acute neurological changes, collaborating with rapid response and tele-neurology teams.
  • Assist in coordinating transfers to higher levels of care when indicated.
  • Manage workflow between scheduled rounding and urgent stroke alerts/ consults.
  • Troubleshoot telehealth equipment and connectivity issues.
  • Support interdisciplinary communication and ensure closed-loop communication by working closely with the RN Stroke Coordinator.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience in neurology, ICU, ED, or telemetry
  • Experience with telehealth or stroke care.
