Who we look for: The ideal candidate should be a detail oriented and an organized planner. The role needs relentless advocacy of operational pain points and challenging the status quo. The candidate should be self-driven and possess the ability to work in an ambiguous environment with minimal guidance or supervision. As such, the candidate must be skilled at anticipating problems, creating contingency plans and managing multiple priorities.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities: The Industrial Engineer will report to the Sr. Director of Industrial Engineering and will have many important responsibilities, including but not limited to:
  1. Lead the design, scoping, RFP and implementation for automation solutions.
  2. Develop continuous improvement charters, scopes of work, plans, and schedules for continuous improvement programs.
  3. Lead cross-functional teams on their continuous improvement journey by guiding them through an understanding of Lean /Six-Sigma concepts, CI methodology, Kaizen events and other process improvement methods to drive key KPIs in cost, efficiency, and quality.
  4. Identify opportunities for defect reductions, efficiency improvement, and cost reduction.
  5. Expertly perform process and value stream mapping and train others. Conduct process analysis and trending using continuous improvement tools and techniques. Provide mechanisms to capture baseline data before and after improvements are made.
  6. Perform critical thinking and problem solving - evaluating alternatives, and identifying solutions using systematic, multi-step approaches.
  7. Define standard work for ongoing operations, training, communication and change management.
  8. Lead and conduct financial analysis of operational performance.
  9. Generate cost models for new business opportunities as part of the sales process.
  10. Deliver moderately complex medium to large scale new process improvements from initiation through delivery.
  11. Develop and maintain project plans, identify resource needs, and manage project schedule; collaborate effectively across teams to define strategy, goals and commitment to timelines and deliverables.
  12. Analyzes problems, identify issues, summarize findings and recommend courses of actions. Once the solution or process optimization is implemented, monitors customer satisfaction and ROI.

Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:
  1. 7+ years of overall experience with at least 4+ in lean/six sigma, or similar quality and continuous improvement fields.
  2. Ability to work in a highly ambiguous environment and interest in supporting national operations.
  3. Experience in a global / multinational environment building and sustaining continuous improvement culture.
  4. Excellent written and verbal skills as well as prioritization and planning skills - with strong attention to detail.
  5. Well-honed analytical skills, comfortable working with large amounts of data and communicating data findings, experience establishing and tracking program metrics including return on investment.
  6. Successful record of building, improving and running business processes.
  7. Strategic orientation, able to work with sophisticated financial analyses, assess and mitigate risk, forecast both long and short-term outcomes, and anticipate and navigate scenarios in a complex operational environment.
  8. Highly developed communication, interpersonal and leadership skills. Proven ability to partner effectively with stakeholders to meet business objectives.
  9. Excellent training and facilitation skills; in person and virtual instructor lead.
  10. Experience assessing training effectiveness. Ability to create and utilize evaluations and metrics.
  11. Strong skills in managing projects, organizing resources and establishing priorities, along with the ability to balance multiple accountabilities.
  12. Ability to act as a positive change agent.
  13. Technical Writing Skills is desired.
  14. Managerial experience is a plus.
  15. Must be willing to travel

Education and Experience: Bachelors or Master's degree in Industrial Engineering or similar discipline. Equivalent work experience may be substituted for degree.
