The Security Engineering Team is at the forefront of protecting Fireflies.ai and its users by ensuring the security of our infrastructure and data. We are looking for a creative hustler who is not just technically proficient but also a great team player and communicator, capable of leading security initiatives in a hands-on way while educating our team on best security practices in the process.As we scale to meet the demand of millions of users globally, the security of our platform and the data we handle is paramount. This role involves critical decision-making, problem-solving, and the implementation of cutting-edge security measures to defend against current and emerging threats.

What You’ll Do:
  • Develop and implement security measures and infrastructure to protect Fireflies.ai and our users' data.
  • Conduct thorough security reviews and audits of existing cloud infrastructure, identifying vulnerabilities and enforcing compliance with security standards.
  • Work with the engineering teams to design and implement scalable security best practices within our software development lifecycle.
  • Manage our bug bounty program, and track the progress of the bugs raised to the engineering teams.
  • Be part of the incident response team for any security incidents.
  • Innovate by proposing and leading projects that enhance our security posture, including the development of tools and processes that automate security checks and balances.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the security of new features and services from the ground up.
What You Need:
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure (GCP/AWS) and container technologies (Kubernetes), especially from a security standpoint.
  • 3+ years of experience in security engineering roles with a strong background in backend & infrastructure security, or equivalent interest/focus.
  • In-depth knowledge of security protocols, cryptography, authentication, authorization, security vulnerabilities, and remediation techniques.
  • Familiarity with security compliance frameworks (SOC 2, HIPAA, GDPR) and experience managing security audits and certifications.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with security monitoring tools and incident response.
  • The successful candidate should have the ability previously to ship code end-to-end and possess backend development experience, with a particular focus on Node.js.
Nice-to-Haves:
  • Any of the following certifications:
    • AWS Solutions Architect - Professional
    • AWS DevOps Engineer
    • AWS Certified Security - Specialty
    • GCP Professional Cloud Architect
    • Certified Kubernetes Administrator or Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist
  • Previous hands-on experience in a high-growth startup environment, ideally in a SaaS company, or equivalent distributed, large-scale systems.
  • Contributions to the security community (e.g., publications, presentations, CVEs).
  • Experience with implementing secure automation and DevSecOps practices.
