Job Description:
HITT Contracting is seeking a Reality Capture Manager to join our Virtual Construction team and lead our enterprise-wide adoption of cutting-edge reality capture technologies that transform how we see, measure, and understand every project site.
Every day, our team members do amazing things in pursuit of our shared purpose to build trust with our clients, partners, subcontractors, and teammates. No matter your background, education, or career path, if you share our vision to create extraordinary experiences, you belong at HITT.
Where Innovation Meets Construction
As Reality Capture Manager, you'll lead our enterprise-wide adoption of cutting-edge reality capture technologies that transform how we see, measure, and understand every project site. You'll own the complete data lifecycle, from strategic field capture planning through processing actionable insights that drive smarter decisions across all phases of construction, while keeping an eye on what's next.
This is a leadership role where your expertise in spatial computing meets real-world impact at scale. You'll build and refine our reality capture program, mentor a high-performing team of Reality Capture Associates, and ensure projects benefit from precise digital documentation that sets HITT apart. You'll also help shape the future direction of our spatial technology strategy by researching emerging tools and workflows and finding ways to put them to work.
Responsibilities:
Leadership & Strategy
  • Own the Playbook: Create and implement enterprise-wide SOPs for reality capture that become industry benchmarks

  • Lead a High-Performance Team: Mentor 3-5 Associates in laser scanning, data processing, and emerging workflows; provide training and technical support to broader project teams on reality capture technologies

  • Quality Excellence: Establish QC protocols ensuring 100% accuracy in captured data across all projects

Technology & Innovation
  • Innovation Champion: Evaluate emerging tech (AI-powered point cloud analysis, new scanner platforms, autonomous capture) and build business cases for adoption

  • Tool Mastery: Manage and evolve our toolkit including NavVis, FARO, Leica Cyclone, DroneDeploy, OpenSpace, and Recap Pro

  • Data-Driven Decisions: Transform raw scan data into actionable insights that drive project decisions

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Bridge the Gap: Work hand-in-hand with BIM Coordination teams to ensure captured reality aligns perfectly with models

  • Operations Partnership: Collaborate with HITT Operations teams to understand project requirements and identify opportunities for reality capture implementation

  • Budget Stewardship: Manage equipment inventory and vendor relationships

  • Client Impact: Present reality capture value propositions that win new work and strengthen existing client relationships

Required Qualifications:
  • Experience: 5-7 years in BIM/VDC, surveying, or geospatial data management roles.

  • Technical Mastery: Hands-on experience with 3D laser scanning, photogrammetry, and LiDAR technologies, with a strong understanding of surveying principles and coordinate systems.

  • Hardware Proficiency: Ability to operate laser scanner hardware, including FARO, NavVis, and Leica scanners.

  • Software Proficiency: Experience with ReCap Pro, FARO Scene, Leica Cyclone, NavVis, Revit, and Navisworks.

  • Construction Documentation: Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction documents, shop drawings, and other design communication tools.

  • Forward-Thinking Mindset: A genuine curiosity about emerging technologies and a habit of staying current with industry trends.

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proficiency leading teams of 3+ people.

  • Familiarity with drone operations and FAA Part 107 certification.

  • Background in data science or machine learning applications in construction.

  • Track record of piloting and implementing new technologies at scale.

  • Expertise in Nvidia Omniverse and Digital Twin development.

  • Experience with Gaussian Splatting and related immersive capture technologies.

Work Environment & Physical Demands
Field Time: 50-75% time on active job sites, varying by project phase.
Office: Balance between field work and office-based planning and reporting.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to navigate construction sites with uneven terrain, stairs, and ladders.

  • Comfortable lifting equipment up to 50 lbs.

  • Capable of standing for extended periods during scans.

  • Willingness to travel to project locations.

Conditions: Exposure to various weather conditions, dust, noise, and other conditions typical of active construction sites.
